How Many Episodes Of Chicago Med Season 5

Okay, let's talk Chicago Med. Specifically, Season 5.
How many episodes did we actually get? Because sometimes, it feels like I blinked and it was over.
It's not like remembering every single patient drama is easy, right? Especially with all those dramatic twists and turns.

The Great Episode Count Caper
So, the burning question: how many episodes? Don't worry, I won't keep you in suspense.
Season 5 graced us with a total of 20 episodes. Twenty. That's it! I thought there were way more.
Seriously, where did they all go? Did Dr. Choi accidentally misplace a few in the ED somewhere?
My (Slightly Unpopular) Opinion
Here's where I might raise some eyebrows. I'm ready for the backlash.

Twenty episodes... I think it was almost perfect. Okay, hear me out!
Before you throw your stethoscopes at me, let's consider. Sometimes, less is more, especially when the alternative is dreaded filler episodes.
Think about it: tight storylines. Constant tension. No time for the characters to, say, organize Dr. Charles' sock drawer or something equally boring.
Don't get me wrong, I adore Chicago Med. I love the drama, the romance, the questionable medical decisions.

But sometimes, seasons drag. Characters do weird things that make absolutely no sense. Like, why would Dr. Natalie Manning ever do that?
With a shorter season, the writers have to bring their A-game. Every episode needs to pack a punch.
Season 5 definitely punched, right? From heart-wrenching patient cases to simmering relationship drama, it kept us hooked.
Maybe it's because Dr. Halstead was being extra charming, or maybe I was just more easily entertained that year. Whatever the reason, I remember enjoying season 5.

Why This Matters (A Little)
Okay, okay, I admit it. Knowing the episode count isn't exactly life-altering information.
But, when you're planning your next binge-watching session, it's useful, right? You can mentally prepare yourself for the emotional rollercoaster that is Chicago Med.
Plus, it gives us something to debate with our fellow Med-Heads. Was Season 5 too short? Just right? Did you prefer the longer seasons?
I am willing to die on this hill. Quality over quantity people!
Maybe I just have a short attention span. Maybe I just can't handle too much emotional turmoil from the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center.
Or maybe, just maybe, 20 episodes of Chicago Med Season 5 was a sweet spot of medical mayhem and personal drama.
Either way, I'm ready for another rewatch. Pass the popcorn!
And someone remind me again why April Sexton left. I'm still not over it.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a fictional hospital to get back to. Duty calls!
