How Many Episodes In The Old Man On Fx

Okay, let's talk about The Old Man on FX. Specifically, how many episodes are there? It’s a question I pondered while simultaneously trying to remember where I left my car keys (a common occurrence, I assure you).
The answer is… seven. Yes, a mere seven episodes. Seems a tad short, doesn’t it?
Seven Episodes? Seriously?
Seven episodes feels like a TV tease. I mean, just when you're getting invested in Dan Chase's (Jeff Bridges) complicated past, BAM! It's over. You're left wanting more, like a kid after a single scoop of ice cream.
Must Read
Don't get me wrong, those seven episodes are good. Really good! But still, seven? It's like they just started to scratch the surface.
My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)
Here’s where things might get controversial. I think The Old Man needed, at minimum, three more episodes. Hear me out!

Imagine the possibilities! More backstory on Faraz Hamzad (Pej Vahdat). More tension between Chase and Harold Harper (John Lithgow). More scenes of Jeff Bridges being effortlessly cool (which, let's be honest, is always a good thing).
Seven episodes felt rushed. It was like trying to cram a Thanksgiving feast into a lunchbox. Delicious, but ultimately unsatisfying in the long run.
Maybe I'm greedy. Maybe I just have a high tolerance for suspenseful thrillers. But I genuinely think a longer season would have allowed the story to breathe and the characters to develop even further.

What Could Have Been?
Imagine an episode delving deeper into the complicated relationship between Chase and his daughter, Angela Adams (Alia Shawkat). An entire episode focusing on her internal struggles and her conflicted loyalties.
Or perhaps an episode dedicated to Harper's backstory. We get glimpses, but a full episode would add another layer of complexity to his character.

And let's not forget the action sequences. More chase scenes, more close calls, more moments of heart-pounding suspense. Seven episodes just weren't enough to showcase everything this show had to offer.
"Seven episodes felt rushed. It was like trying to cram a Thanksgiving feast into a lunchbox."
Look, I understand the constraints of television production. Budgets, schedules, actor availability – I get it. But still, a guy can dream, right?
Season Two: Redemption (Hopefully!)
Thankfully, there's a season two on the horizon. Hopefully, season two will give us more episodes to chew on. And maybe, just maybe, it will address some of the questions left unanswered in season one.

Will Chase finally find peace? Will Angela ever fully trust her father? Will Harper's past finally catch up with him?
These are the questions that keep me up at night (along with the mystery of those misplaced car keys). FX, please don't disappoint us! Give us a season two that's longer, deeper, and even more thrilling than the first. And please, for the love of Jeff Bridges, give us more than seven episodes!
Until then, I'll just be here, re-watching the first seven episodes and wishing there were more. And maybe searching for my car keys…again.
