How Many Episodes In The Last Season Of Shameless

Let's talk Shameless. Specifically, that final season. And even more specifically, how many episodes it had.
Ready for a number? Buckle up. Season 11 had... 12 episodes.
Okay, okay, settle down. I know what you're thinking. "Twelve? That's it?"
Must Read
Was it Enough Gallavich?
Honestly, did it feel like enough? Especially with Gallavich finally getting hitched? Every scene felt precious.
Like we were rationing out happiness. We needed more wedding bliss. More domestic squabbles. More Mickey being, well, Mickey!
And let's not even get started on Ian. He deserved a longer honeymoon!
More Gallagher Chaos, Please
The whole season felt... rushed. Like they were cramming a decade's worth of dysfunction into twelve short hours.

Remember the early seasons? Those sprawling storylines? The sheer, unadulterated Gallagher chaos?
We missed that. The shenanigans felt dialed down. The usual insanity felt…slightly sane? What?
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here's where I might lose some of you. Ready? I think the last season of Shameless needed... more episodes.
Gasp! I know! Some folks probably wanted it to end sooner. But hear me out.

Twelve episodes wasn't enough to give everyone a proper send-off. Or adequately explore some of the storylines.
Debbie, Debbie, Debbie!
Let's talk about Debbie, for a minute. Poor Debbie. Always making questionable life choices.
Her entire arc felt… unresolved. Did she learn anything? Did she grow? Did she finally realize that maybe, just maybe, running away with a felon wasn't the best idea?
We needed more time to see her (hopefully) get her act together. Though, let's be real, probably not!
Frank's Exit and its impact
And Frank? His storyline was heartbreaking, sure. But it also felt a little…abrupt.

He deserved a more gradual decline. A more chaotic, Frank-like exit.
Not that I wanted him to suffer, of course. But a peaceful passing just didn't feel very Shameless, if you know what I mean.
A Longer Goodbye to the South Side
Maybe 15 episodes would have been the sweet spot. Enough time to wrap things up properly. But not so much that it dragged on forever.
We could have seen more of the South Side. More of the community. More of the everyday struggles that made Shameless so relatable.

Basically, we needed more time to say goodbye. To the Gallaghers. To Chicago. To the whole damn beautiful, messy, glorious show.
So, 12 episodes? Too few?
So, yeah, twelve episodes. Fine. I watched them. I enjoyed parts of them.
But deep down, I'll always feel like we were robbed. Robbed of a truly epic final season.
What do you think? Was 12 enough? Or did Shameless deserve a longer, more chaotic farewell?
Let me know if I'm alone on this "unpopular" island.
