How Many Episodes In Season 6 This Is Us

Okay, let's talk about This Is Us. Season 6, to be exact.
Remember all the feels? All the tears?
And more importantly, remember trying to figure out how many episodes were left?
Must Read
The Great Episode Count Caper
So, how many episodes did Season 6 have? Officially? It was 18. Yep, eighteen whole episodes of the Pearson family drama.
But here's my, perhaps unpopular, opinion. It didn't feel like enough.
Eighteen felt like trying to cram a Thanksgiving feast into a kid's lunchbox. A bit…squished.
Too Much Story, Too Little Time?
Don’t get me wrong. I love a good, emotional rollercoaster. Especially when it involves Mandy Moore and Sterling K. Brown.
But Season 6 had a lot going on. Flash forwards, flash backs, present day… My brain needed a map!

It felt like they were trying to tie up every loose end with superglue and a prayer.
I mean, we had Rebecca's declining health. We had Kevin's complicated love life. And Kate's journey to happiness (finally!).
And let’s not forget Randall trying to save the world, one speech at a time.
That's a lot for just eighteen episodes, right?
My Unpopular Opinion: We Needed More!
Here it comes. I think Season 6 needed at least…22 episodes.

Hear me out! Four extra episodes to breathe.
Four extra episodes to let the stories unfold a little more naturally. Less frantic, more…Pearson-y.
Imagine. A full, leisurely exploration of Nicky's newfound romance. A deep dive into Miguel's struggles as a caregiver.
And maybe, just maybe, a little less time jumping around like a caffeinated kangaroo.
I understand wanting to end strong. But strong doesn’t have to mean rushed.

Think about it. We could have savored those final moments with Rebecca just a little bit longer.
We could have truly absorbed the impact of each character's ending.
Could They Have Squeezed More In?
Some might argue that eighteen episodes were perfect. That they didn’t want to drag things out.
I respect that. But I respectfully disagree.
This show has such a big fan following. Each character has a different fanbase.

Even just one extra episode for each of the big three (Kevin, Kate, and Randall) would have satisfied some fans.
The magic of This Is Us was in its ability to make us feel deeply. To connect with the characters on a profound level.
And sometimes, feeling deeply takes time.
So, while Season 6 gave us a beautiful, tear-jerking conclusion, I’ll always wonder what could have been with just a few more precious episodes.
Anyone else feel this way? Or am I just a hopeless This Is Us addict?
Let's discuss! (Pass the tissues, please.)
