How Many Episodes In Season 5 Of The Originals

Okay, let's talk The Originals. Specifically, season five. How many episodes did we get? Twelve. But honestly? Was it enough?
Twelve felt... short. Like, "blink and you'll miss it" short. Did anyone else feel a little cheated? Just me? Okay, moving on.
The Episode Count Debate: Twelve or More?
Twelve episodes to wrap up the entire Mikaelson saga? It felt rushed. So many loose ends to tie up. So many potential storylines left unexplored!
Must Read
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a show knowing when to quit. But The Originals? It felt like it had so much more to give.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Here's my truly unpopular opinion: Season five needed at least fifteen episodes. Maybe even eighteen! Gasp!
I know, I know. People will say it would have been too drawn out. But imagine what we could have gotten! More character development! More Mikaelson family drama!

More time with Klaus being…well, Klaus. And isn't that what we all really wanted?
What Could Have Been?
Think about it. An extra few episodes could have fleshed out Hope's character more. Showed us more of her struggles at the Salvatore School.
We could have seen more of Marcel and Rebekah's relationship blossom. Explore their struggles navigating their immortal lives together.
And what about the other characters? Josh deserved more screen time! He was the best friend we all needed. A true gem.

The Hope Factor
Hope's transition into a teenager felt abrupt. One minute she's a kid, the next she's facing down dark magic. We missed a vital part of her journey.
More episodes could have given us a smoother transition. Allowed us to connect more with her struggles and her powers.
Imagine a whole episode dedicated to her mastering a particularly difficult spell! Or navigating a teenage crush! Come on, that's good TV right there!

The Finale: Too Much, Too Fast?
The ending was...intense. A lot happened in those last few episodes. Maybe too much?
Klaus and Elijah's sacrifice? Heartbreaking, yes. But rushed? Maybe a little. Did they really need to both go? (Don't answer that. I'm still not over it.)
An extra episode or two could have allowed for a more gradual and emotionally resonant farewell. Let us savor those final moments.
In Conclusion: More Mikaelsons, Please!
So, twelve episodes of season five of The Originals? Great, but not enough. Not nearly enough for this fan, anyway.

I'm always left wanting more Mikaelsons! More magic! More complex family dynamics!
Maybe I'm just greedy. Or maybe The Originals was just that good. Either way, I'll always wonder what could have been with just a few more episodes.
Anyone else agree with me? Or am I shouting into the void here? Let me know!
What is everyone’s unpopular The Originals opinion?
