How Many Episodes In Season 5 Of Better Things

Okay, let's talk Better Things. Season 5. Specifically, how many episodes are in it.
The Actual Answer (In Case You're Too Lazy to Google)
The super-short, no-nonsense answer? Season 5 has 10 episodes. Boom. Done.
But where's the fun in just stopping there? Come on!
Must Read
Ten Episodes: Enough? Or a Crime Against Humanity?
Ten episodes is... fine, I guess. It's a decent amount. But here's my unpopular opinion: it wasn't enough.
Don't get me wrong. I savored every single second. Every awkward family dinner. Every Sam Fox (played brilliantly by Pamela Adlon) moment.
But ten episodes went by way too fast. It felt like I blinked, and it was over.
I Wanted More! Sue Me!
Seriously, could we have gotten, like, 20 episodes? Or maybe even 30? I'm not greedy... okay, maybe I am.

I just loved hanging out with Sam, Frankie, Max, and Duke. They felt like my own slightly dysfunctional family.
And isn't that what made the show so great? The realness? The messy, beautiful, chaotic realness of life?
Imagining Alternate Realities (Where Season 5 Had More Episodes)
Imagine a world where season 5 had, say, 15 episodes. What could we have seen?
More of Frankie's (played by Hannah Alligood) journey of self-discovery? Deeper dives into Max’s (played by Mikey Madison) crazy life?

And definitely more of Duke's (played by Olivia Edward) adorableness. That kid is a scene-stealer.
Maybe we could've even seen Sam finally find a lasting, fulfilling relationship. Okay, maybe that's pushing it. But a girl can dream, right?
My Completely Unscientific and Probably Wrong Episode Ranking
While we're on the subject, let's talk favorites. This is purely subjective, of course.
Everyone loves "New Orleans," the finale. But for me, the episode where Sam confronts her own mortality was brilliant. Heartbreaking and funny all at once.

And any episode with Phyllis (played by Celia Imrie) is gold. That woman is a national treasure.
So, What Now? A Better Things-Shaped Hole In Our Hearts
The fact remains: season 5 had 10 episodes. It’s over. And it’s a tragedy.
We're left with a Better Things-shaped hole in our viewing schedules. What are we supposed to watch now?
Reruns, obviously. And maybe write angry letters to FX demanding a spin-off starring Duke. Just kidding... mostly.

But seriously, Pamela Adlon, thank you. For everything. For making us laugh, cry, and feel like we weren’t alone in the messy chaos of life.
Maybe, just maybe, someday we'll get more Better Things. Until then, we'll just keep rewatching those ten precious episodes. Again and again.
Because even though it wasn't enough, it was still perfect.
And let's be honest, Pamela Adlon deserves all the awards. All of them.
