How Many Episodes In Season 4 Of Revenge

Revenge Season 4: Was it Long Enough? Or Did They Drag It Out?
Okay, let's talk about Revenge. Specifically, season 4. Remember that drama? The scheming? The Hampton's looking glamorous and slightly evil?
How many episodes did we actually get? Brace yourselves...it was 23 episodes. That's a whole lotta Grayson Manor shenanigans.
Twenty-Three Episodes: A Feast or a Famine?
Now, some people probably loved every single second. More Emily Thorne is always a good thing, right?
Must Read
But let's be real. Did it feel...stretched? Like maybe they were squeezing every last drop of drama out of the Hamptons?
I'm going to say it. (Unpopular opinion alert!) Twenty-three episodes felt like a bit much for Revenge season 4. Gasp!
The Filler Episodes: We've All Been There
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed many of the episodes. But were there some that felt like pure, unadulterated filler?
You know, the ones where you're mostly checking your phone, wondering when Victoria Grayson would reappear with a cutting remark?

Every long-running show has them. Those episodes where they needed to fill the time. Revenge was not exempt.
Could It Have Been Tighter?
Imagine if season 4 had been, say, 18 episodes. Snappier pacing. Less time to get bored.
Maybe some storylines could have been condensed. Perhaps a villain or two could have been cut out completely. gasp
Think of the focused intensity! We could have gotten to the explosive finale faster. No wasted plot twists.

The Finale: Worth the Wait?
Speaking of the finale...it was certainly something. Did the ending justify the 23-episode journey? That's debatable.
Some loved it. Some hated it. And some were just confused (looking at you, transfer of Emily's revenge to a new protege). The ending of Revenge definitely caused some strong emotions!
But the number of episodes in the final season shouldn't have altered the ending, in my opinion.
Other Show Examples
Take the show, Friends, there were only 10 seasons. Each season contains about 24 episodes. So you can say that it would be similar to Revenge final season length.

But what about Grey's Anatomy? It has 20 seasons, it has more than 20 episodes per season! Which one is better?
It depends on the quality of the show, I guess. More episodes doesn't mean better episodes, right?
My Verdict: Quality over Quantity
Ultimately, I think Revenge season 4 could have benefited from a little trimming. Quality over quantity, people!
A tighter, more focused season might have left a stronger, more lasting impression. It should not have been 23 episodes long, in my opinion.

But hey, at least we got to see more of Nolan Ross's amazing wardrobe. Silver linings, right?
Now it's your turn
Tell me what you think! Was 23 episodes of Revenge season 4 the perfect amount? Or did it feel a bit much? Or did it leave you wanting more?
Feel free to disagree with me. The great thing about TV is that everyone has an opinion.
I'm ready for the #Revenge debate! Let me know in the comments below.
