How Many Episodes In Season 16 Of Ncis

Okay, let's talk NCIS. Specifically, Season 16. Remember that one?
So, How Many Episodes Were There?
The answer, for those who haven't memorized the NCIS episode guide (guilty!), is 24.
Yep, a full two dozen adventures with Gibbs and the gang. Twenty-four weeks of solving crimes and, let's be honest, occasional questionable plot twists.
Must Read
But Wait, There's More (Opinion Time!)
Here's where things get interesting. And possibly where I get some tomatoes thrown at me.
I have an unpopular opinion: Season 16 could've been shorter. Maybe even better shorter.
Now, don't get me wrong. I love NCIS. I've spent countless hours watching Gibbs stare intensely and Tony DiNozzo... well, be Tony DiNozzo (miss you, buddy!).

But sometimes, a season just feels a little...padded. Like they're stretching things out to fill the time.
Anyone else ever feel like an episode was just...there? Like it didn't really advance the main storyline or give any character significant development?
Exactly! I'm not alone!
Quality Over Quantity?
Look, 24 episodes is a lot of content. It's a commitment.

And sometimes, I think that commitment hurts the overall quality. Imagine if those 24 episodes were trimmed down to, say, 18 or 20.
Wouldn't each episode pack a bigger punch? Wouldn't the plot lines feel tighter and more focused?
Think of your favorite season of any show. Was it the longest one? Probably not. Usually, it's the one that's consistently great, right?

Maybe, just maybe, NCIS Season 16 could have been even more amazing with a little less filler.
Hear me out! I'm not saying get rid of the quirky cases. I love the quirky cases! Who doesn't love a case involving a parrot that witnessed a murder?
But maybe streamline the overarching season plot. Tighten the character arcs. Make every episode feel like a must-watch.
The "Unpopular Opinion" Conclusion
So, yeah, NCIS Season 16 had 24 episodes. And it was perfectly fine. Perfectly watchable.

But could it have been more than perfectly fine? Could it have been truly exceptional with a few less episodes and a little more focus?
I think so. But hey, that's just my unpopular opinion. Feel free to disagree!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go re-watch the Ziva David return episodes. Because those were undeniably awesome, no matter the season length.
And maybe, just maybe, I'll skip a few of the parrot ones this time. Shhh! Don't tell anyone!
