How Many Episodes In Each Season Of Game Of Thrones

How Many Episodes In Each Season Of Game Of Thrones

Okay, let's talk Game of Thrones. We all loved it. Or at least, we loved most of it, right?

One thing that always bugged me? The episode count per season. It was all over the place!

The 10-Episode Golden Age

Seasons one through six? Glorious. Ten episodes each. A perfect serving size.

It felt like enough time to develop characters. Remember Ned Stark's shocking exit? That needed space to breathe!

Ten episodes meant we got plot twists, battles, and dragon fire. All in reasonable doses.

The Shortened Later Years

Then came the dreaded season seven. Just seven episodes! What?!

It felt rushed. Characters teleported across Westeros. Plot lines zipped by.

I still enjoyed some aspects of it, but I craved more depth. I wanted more character development!

The Infamous Six

And finally, season eight. Only six episodes. Sigh. Deep, dramatic sigh.

Six episodes to wrap up EVERYTHING? Seriously? It was like trying to stuff a giant into a tiny box.

No wonder people were…displeased. It was like a buffet where all the good food ran out early.

My Unpopular Opinion: Less is NOT More

Here's where I might lose some of you. I think the earlier seasons were better, largely because of the longer episode count.

Sure, some might say there was filler. But that "filler" is what made Westeros feel real. The political maneuvering, the quiet character moments, Tyrion's witty remarks.

Those things need time to simmer! You can't rush greatness!

The shortened seasons felt like the show was panicking. Like it was desperately trying to reach the finish line.

"A rushed ending is always worse than a slow burn." - Me, just now.

I understand the reasons. Money, time, creative burnout. But as a viewer? I felt cheated.

In Conclusion: Give Me More!

I'm not saying every episode had to be a masterpiece. But more episodes allowed for a richer, more immersive experience.

More time with Daenerys, more scheming with Littlefinger, more battle strategies with Jon Snow. We deserved it!

Maybe I'm just greedy. Maybe I'm living in the past. But I miss the days of ten glorious Game of Thrones episodes per season.

Anyone else feel my pain? Or am I alone on this icy hill, waiting for the White Walkers of short seasons to come and get me?
