How Many Episodes In Discovery Of Witches Season 3

Okay, let's talk about A Discovery of Witches. Specifically, season 3. How many episodes did we actually get?
The (Slightly Disappointing) Episode Count
Officially? A mere seven. Seven episodes to wrap up this whole epic tale. I know, right? Feels a little short.
Seven? Seriously?
I mean, we've waited so long. We've invested our hearts (and maybe a few tears). And that's all we get?
Must Read
Don't get me wrong, I devoured every second. But seven feels... stingy. Like a single, delicious bite of chocolate cake when you're craving the whole thing.
Compared to the previous seasons, it is quite short. Season 1 and Season 2 both had 8 episodes.
Is it Just Me, Or...?
Am I the only one who felt a bit cheated? Like the showrunners were rushing to the finish line? Maybe I just wanted more Matthew Goode on my screen.

Perhaps I'm just greedy. I readily admit to that failing. But with so much lore and story to cover, those seven episodes felt crammed.
I think it could have used at least one or two more episodes to expand on certain details. Or simply give us more character development.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here's where I get controversial. Buckle up. Seven episodes of season three wasn't enough.
I know, I know! Some people probably think it was perfectly paced. But I’m not convinced. I wanted more world-building, more magic, more everything!

It is a fact that the story and world-building in A Discovery of Witches is quite complex. Maybe it needs a few more episodes to truly shine.
Think about it: We had witches, vampires, daemons, historical timelines, and a complex prophecy. Seven episodes to explore all that? It is too crammed.
What Could Have Been
Imagine an extra episode delving deeper into daemon culture. Or more backstory on Ysabeau. The possibilities were endless!
Seven episodes felt like the abridged version. Like someone read the book really fast and gave us the cliff notes. A pretty set of cliff notes, but still.

Maybe I'm just dreaming. Maybe I'm living in a fantasy world where TV seasons are infinitely long. A girl can dream, right?
Did They Stick the Landing?
Despite my episode count grumbles, the finale did try its best. It wrapped up most of the loose ends. It gave us a (mostly) satisfying conclusion.
But even a satisfying conclusion could have benefited from a little extra breathing room. Maybe it just needed a little longer.
So, seven episodes it was. And though I’ll always wish for more, I still treasure the experience. I guess I'll just have to rewatch it again. And again.

The Final Verdict
Seven episodes is the magic number for season 3. But in my heart? It will always be seven episodes that should have been nine or ten. Don't judge me!
Ultimately, I still adore A Discovery of Witches. Even if I think they were a bit stingy with the episode count. Perhaps a spin-off is in order?
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch season one. And dream of a longer season three.
