How Many Episodes In Chicago Fire Season 10

Okay, let's talk Chicago Fire. Specifically, season 10. And even more specifically, the episode count. How many were there? Anyone remember?

It's a question that pops into my head more often than I'd like to admit. Probably while I'm supposed to be doing something productive. Like laundry. Or, you know, adulting.

The answer, for those who haven't Googled it yet (or have and already forgotten), is 22 episodes. Twenty-two! That's a whole lot of saving people and fighting fires.

With 22 episodes, things can start to feel a bit… stretched. Remember those filler episodes? The ones where you're just waiting for something actually important to happen? Yeah, those.

Don't get me wrong, I love seeing Squad 3, Truck 81, and Ambulance 61 in action. I cheer for Kelly Severide and swoon over Stella Kidd. But even they can't save a poorly paced episode.

I'd argue that a tighter, more focused season of, say, 16-18 episodes would be amazing. Every episode would pack a punch. No wasted storylines.

Quality Over Quantity, Folks

Think of it like your favorite pizza. Would you rather have a small, perfectly crafted pie with the best ingredients? Or a giant, floppy pizza where the crust is a little soggy and the toppings are unevenly distributed?

I’m picking the small, perfect pizza every time. And I think the same principle applies to Chicago Fire.

Season 10 had some truly amazing moments, no doubt. Boden's leadership, Severide and Stella finally tying the knot (cue the happy tears!), and the usual heart-stopping rescues. But some episodes just felt like they were filling time.

The Case for Shorter Seasons

Shorter seasons can lead to better writing. It forces the writers to be more creative and economical with their storytelling. Every scene has to matter.

It also keeps the audience engaged. No risk of getting bored or tuning out. Every episode is a must-see event.

And let's not forget the actors! Imagine them having a little more time to recharge between seasons. They could come back even more energized and ready to deliver their best performances.

So, while 22 episodes of Chicago Fire Season 10 gave us plenty of content, maybe, just maybe, a slightly trimmed down season would have been even better. It's just a thought.
