How Many Episodes Does To Your Eternity Have

Okay, let's talk about To Your Eternity. Beautiful, right? Heart-wrenching? Absolutely. But also… kinda long?
So, How Many Episodes Are We Talking About?
The first season has 20 episodes. That's a decent chunk of time to invest in Fushi's journey.
Then, BAM! Season two arrives with 20 more episodes. Forty episodes overall. My brain starts to hurt.
Must Read
Forty is a lot, folks. Just saying. Prepare yourself for an emotional rollercoaster that might feel... eternal.
Is It Too Much? (An Unpopular Opinion)
Here’s where I might get some hate. Don't get me wrong, I love To Your Eternity. The animation? Stunning! The characters? Complex! The plot? Weepy!
But did it need 40 episodes? Maybe not.
Some stories are perfect as shorter, more concentrated bursts of emotion. You know? Like a really intense, well-made movie. Think of Grave of the Fireflies. Ouch, right? But it packs its punch in one go.

To Your Eternity sometimes feels like it spreads itself a little thin. It gets a bit repetitive, perhaps?
We have new arcs, new characters, new tragedies. It’s a cycle. Fushi learns, Fushi loses, Fushi cries (we cry), repeat.
I almost feel Fushi's pain but from watching too many episodes, not from the story. Almost.
The Pacing Problem
The pacing feels… off. Some episodes are masterfully crafted tearjerkers.

Others? Seem to drag on a little too long. I feel like I aged as much as Fushi in some of the time skips.
Imagine if they'd condensed everything into, say, 25-30 episodes. It could be perfect!
Think about it, a tighter narrative. Less filler. More impactful moments.
But Hey, More Fushi, Right?
Of course, some of you are screaming at your screens right now. "More Fushi is always better!" And I get it.

Fushi is precious. We want to protect him. We want to see him grow. We want to watch him eat weird fruits and make questionable fashion choices.
But even too much of a good thing can... well, be too much. It's like eating an entire cake in one sitting. It sounds amazing at first, then you feel terrible.
The Verdict (Maybe?)
To Your Eternity is a fantastic anime. Truly. I'm just throwing out my slightly controversial thoughts.
Forty episodes felt a bit excessive, in my humble (and possibly wrong) opinion. It's not bad, it is just that it felt like that it could be shorter.

Did it need that many? Debatable. Should you still watch it? Absolutely! Just maybe pace yourself. Don't binge it all in one weekend. Unless you have no soul to break.
Ultimately, it's a matter of preference. Enjoy the ride! And bring tissues. Lots and lots of tissues. You will need them for at least 40 episodes!
Enjoy Fushi's eternal journey. Just remember to take breaks. Your heart (and your schedule) will thank you.
