Okay, here's where I might get some hate. I think Dexter: New Blood could have used a couple more episodes. Seriously.

Hear me out! We had a whole new town to explore. New characters to get to know. And Harrison, Dexter's son, was basically a walking mystery.

Ten episodes barely scratched the surface. It felt like we were just getting warmed up when BAM! It was all over.

What Could Have Been

Imagine a few more episodes dedicated to Harrison's dark passenger. We could have seen Dexter struggling even more with his role as a father.

More time could have been spent developing the relationships between Dexter and the new characters. Especially Angela Bishop, the police chief.

Their dynamic was interesting, but felt a little underdeveloped. A few more episodes could have given their story some more breathing room.

The Ending: Love it or Hate it

Let's not even get started on the ending. People either loved it or absolutely despised it. There's rarely any in-between.

Perhaps with a longer season, the ending wouldn't have felt so... abrupt. Maybe they could have massaged the storyline a bit more.

But hey, what do I know? I'm just a humble fan who wanted more Dexter Morgan in my life.

Would More Episodes Have Helped?

Of course, more episodes don't automatically equal a better show. But in this case, I think it could have made a difference.

It felt like the writers had a lot of ideas crammed into a limited space. Giving them more room to explore those ideas could have resulted in a more satisfying conclusion.

Ultimately, we got ten episodes of Dexter: New Blood. And while I enjoyed it, I can't help but wonder what could have been.

Maybe someday we'll get a Dexter: New Blood Season 2 (unlikely, but one can dream). Or maybe I'll just rewatch the original series for the tenth time.
