How Many Episodes Are In The Old Man

So, How Many Episodes of The Old Man Is Enough?
Okay, let’s be real. We all watched The Old Man. Or at least, started to. And we all had thoughts.
Some loved it. Some, well, less so. But a question lingers: Were six episodes enough? I have…opinions.
The Case for Six: A Sniper's Brevity
Six episodes. Neat. Tidy. Like a perfectly folded government file. Did it tell the story efficiently?
Must Read
Maybe. Some might argue it was a laser-focused narrative. No wasted time. Just bam! Action!
Each episode was packed. Convoluted plot points abounded! Did it always make perfect sense? That's debatable.
But... Was it Too Tidy? My Unpopular Opinion
Here's where I might lose some of you. Six episodes felt…rushed. Like they were trying to cram a whole novel into a pamphlet.

Think about it. This is The Old Man, starring Jeff Bridges. We expect gravitas. We expect simmering tension. We expect…more.
Six episodes? It felt like we were speed-dating the plot. "Hi, I'm a secret agent. My past is complicated. Trust me."
Character Development? More Like Character Drive-Bys
The supporting characters! Awesome actors! But did they get their due? Not really.
Amy Brenneman was fantastic. But her relationship with Bridges' character? Felt a bit…thin. More exploration needed!

And what about the younger versions of the characters? Flashes of backstory. Then, gone! Like a phantom limb.
The Plot Thickens (Too Quickly!)
The plot itself was a tangled web. Alliances shifted faster than you can say "deep state."
Keeping track of who was betraying whom required notes. Flowcharts! Maybe a PhD in espionage! Was that really necessary?

I think a few extra episodes could have allowed the story to breathe. To develop organically.
Imagine…More Episodes!
Picture this. Eight episodes. Ten! Room to explore the characters' motivations. Room to savor the suspense.
Imagine deeper dives into the past. More nuanced relationships. Less feeling like you’re constantly playing catch-up.
More Jeff Bridges just being Jeff Bridges. Isn’t that what we all want, deep down?

The Verdict? More, Please!
Look, six episodes of The Old Man weren't bad. Just…incomplete. Like a delicious meal with only appetizers.
I wanted more. More story. More character. More slow-burn tension that Jeff Bridges excels at.
So, my unpopular opinion? Six episodes wasn't enough. Give us more! Or at least, give us a really, really long movie version.
I mean, who's with me?
