How Many Episodes Are In Steven Universe Season 1

Okay, let's talk Steven Universe. Specifically, Season 1. I know, right? Throwback! But something's been bugging me.
The Episode Count Conundrum
Everyone says Season 1 has 52 episodes. Fifty-freaking-two! That's a lot of Gem shenanigans and donut eating.
But I have a confession. And it might be controversial. Deep breath... I don't feel like Season 1 has 52 episodes.
Must Read
My (Possibly Wrong) Opinion
Hear me out! Maybe it's the way the episodes flow. Or maybe I just binge-watched it too fast. It all blurred together into one long, beautiful, Gem-powered dream.
But seriously, does anyone else feel this way? Like, 52 feels… excessive. Is it just me?
Maybe it’s the format. They pack so much into each 11-minute gem (pun intended!). Each episode feels dense, like a little nugget of story gold.

Digging Deeper (Because I'm Obsessed)
So, I did some digging. I checked the Steven Universe wiki. Yep, 52 episodes are listed. I even counted them. Twice.
I even looked at episode lists on streaming services. Again, 52 episodes. The evidence is stacked against me. I accept my fate.
But still! It feels shorter. Maybe I'm experiencing some kind of Mandela Effect. Am I in an alternate timeline where Season 1 only has, like, 30 episodes?
The Impact of a Gem-Packed Season
Okay, okay, so it's long. But that's a good thing, right? More time with Steven, Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl.

More time to sing along with the amazing songs! More time to cry over the feels! (And there are a LOT of feels.)
Season 1 really lays the groundwork for everything that comes after. It introduces us to the characters. It sets up the world. It makes us fall in love with Beach City.
Embracing the 52 Episodes
So, fine. Season 1 has 52 episodes. I surrender. I admit my perception might be a little… skewed.

But maybe that's because Steven Universe is just so good. So engaging. So captivating, that time just flies by when you're watching it.
And who am I to complain about having more Steven Universe to enjoy? Nobody, that's who!
A Final, Slightly Sarcastic Thought
Maybe the crew just wanted to sneak in an extra-long season. You know, just because they could.
Or maybe they were secretly trying to hypnotize us all with the power of Gems and catchy tunes. It's working!

Regardless, 52 episodes it is. And I’ll probably watch them all again next week. Don't judge me.
What Are Your Thoughts?
So, am I alone in this? Does anyone else feel like Season 1 is deceptively short (or long, I guess)? Let me know!
Maybe we can start a support group for people who have trouble grasping the true length of Steven Universe seasons. We can call it "Gems Anonymous."
Thanks for reading my slightly unhinged musings. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some episodes to re-watch. You know, for research.
