How Many Episodes Are In Season 5 Of The Originals

Okay, let's talk The Originals. Specifically, Season 5.
How many episodes are there? You probably already know. But humor me.
We're diving into the burning question that's probably already been Googled a million times. But who doesn't love a little recap?

The Big Reveal (Spoiler: It's Not a Secret)
Season 5 of The Originals has 13 episodes. There you have it!
Easy peasy, right? Thirteen chances to ugly-cry over the Mikaelsons.
Thirteen opportunities to yell at your TV. Don't lie, we've all been there.
But Seriously, Only 13?
I know, I know, it's a relatively short season. Especially compared to some of the earlier ones.
Feels like a crime, doesn't it? Like we deserved at least 22 episodes of angst and vampires.
It's the final season though. They had to wrap things up somehow!

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves)
Okay, here it comes. My possibly controversial Originals opinion.
I think 13 episodes was actually... perfect.
Wait! Don't throw tomatoes! Hear me out.
Think about it. No filler episodes. No dragging storylines.
Just pure, concentrated Mikaelson drama. Straight to the heart.
Every scene felt important. Every moment mattered.

Less is More (Sometimes)
Sometimes, shows go on for too long. They lose their spark.
Characters become caricatures. Plotlines get repetitive.
The Originals avoided that fate. They knew when to bow out.
Season 5 felt intentional. Like they had a story to tell and a deadline to meet.
They didn't waste our time with pointless subplots. They stuck to the core.
Which, let's be honest, is the Mikaelson family's messy, complicated love for each other.

The Ending (We're Still Not Over It)
Yes, the ending was heartbreaking. We all cried.
But it was a fitting end. Tragic, yes. But also beautiful, in a weird way.
Klaus and Elijah went out like heroes. Sacrificing themselves for Hope.
And while we're still not entirely okay with it, it made sense.
Would we have preferred more episodes? Maybe.
But would those extra episodes have made the ending any less painful? Probably not.

So, What's Your Take?
Do you agree with my unpopular opinion? Or are you still bitter about the episode count?
Did you think 13 episodes of Season 5 was enough to send off the Mikaelsons properly?
Sound off in the comments! Let's discuss!
Regardless of your stance, we can all agree on one thing.
The Originals was an amazing show. And we miss it terribly.
Maybe it's time for a rewatch? Just saying...
