How Many Episode Of Tokyo Ghoul Season 3

Officially, Tokyo Ghoul:re Season 1 has 12 episodes. Season 2? Also 12 episodes. So, technically, we’re looking at a total of 24 episodes spread across two parts. But that's just the official answer.

Seriously, does it FEEL like 24 episodes tell the whole story? Maybe not. It always felt a bit... rushed, didn't it?

My (Slightly Unhinged) Opinion

Here's where my unpopular opinion comes in: Tokyo Ghoul:re should have been longer. Way longer.

Hear me out! Think about all the amazing characters! All the intricate plot points! They deserved more screen time, right?

Imagine The Possibilities

Imagine if we had, say, 20 episodes per part. That's 40 episodes total! We could have really delved deeper into the Quinx Squad's struggles. More time for juicy backstory!

And what about more development of Kaneki's internal conflicts? That dude needed a whole therapist, let alone more episodes to process all the trauma.

We could have even had entire episodes dedicated to just eating coffee at Anteiku. Okay, maybe not entire episodes, but a girl can dream!

The Manga vs. The Anime

Part of the feeling that it was rushed probably comes from the source material. The manga is incredibly detailed and complex.

Fitting all that into a limited number of anime episodes? An almost impossible task. They had to cut things! It's inevitable.

Hence, my feeling that Tokyo Ghoul:re needed at least double the number of episodes. Give the source material the time it deserves!

Would More Episodes Have Fixed Everything?

Okay, realistically, more episodes might not have solved everything. Animation quality, pacing, and adaptation choices still play a huge role.

But more time allows for smoother transitions between arcs. It allows the animators to breathe. Plus, more time for character development! What a thought.

Think about other anime adaptations like Hunter x Hunter (2011), giving Tokyo Ghoul:re that same treatment would be ideal.

So, How Many Episodes Should There Have Been?

Alright, let's get hypothetical. If I were in charge (which, let's be honest, would be terrifying for everyone involved), I'd aim for at least 30 episodes per season.

That’s 60 glorious episodes of Tokyo Ghoul:re! Picture it! We could explore every nook and cranny of the Ghoul world.

Ultimately, we got 24 episodes. And while I appreciate what we got, a small part of me will always wonder "what if?" What if we had gotten a longer, more detailed adaptation?

A Ghoul's Gotta Dream

Look, I know it's just wishful thinking. But sometimes, it's fun to imagine a perfect world. Especially when it comes to our favorite anime.
