Okay, let’s talk baseball. Specifically, MLB TV and its streaming habits. Are you like me? Do you have… a lot of screens?

The big question looms: how many devices can actually stream at once? It's a question that has plagued families and friend groups for years.

The Official Line (Boring!)

According to MLB, you can stream on up to four devices simultaneously. Sounds reasonable, right? Maybe not.

This is where my unpopular opinion comes in. Four isn't nearly enough. Hear me out!

The "Realistic" Scenario

Imagine this: Dad's in the living room, glued to the Yankees. Classic.

Mom's catching up on the Red Sox in the kitchen while cooking dinner. Perfectly understandable.

Little Timmy wants to watch the Blue Jays on his tablet in his room. He's a dedicated fan!

And what about Grandma? She insists on seeing the Cardinals on her phone while tending to her garden. What now?

Uh oh. Someone's getting the dreaded "Too many streams" error message. Disaster!

The Problem with Four

Four devices feels… restrictive. Especially in today’s world. Everyone has their own screen!

We're a multi-device society. We juggle laptops, tablets, phones, and smart TVs. Why should baseball be any different?

I'm not saying we need unlimited streams. But maybe bump it up to six? Or even eight?

The Sharing Situation

MLB TV encourages sharing (sort of). You can use your login on multiple devices. But not at the same time. Sneaky.

This creates awkward scheduling conflicts. "Hey, can you log off so I can watch the bottom of the ninth?"

Nobody wants that kind of stress during a close game! It's just adding unnecessary friction. Let us co-exist peacefully.

My Radical (Maybe?) Solution

Offer a premium package. A "Family Plan" for the truly dedicated baseball households.

It would cost more, of course. But it would allow for more simultaneous streams. Everyone wins!

Think of it as an investment in family harmony. And preventing baseball-related arguments.

The Bottom Line (For Me, Anyway)

MLB TV is fantastic. I love being able to watch baseball whenever and wherever I want.

But the four-device limit needs revisiting. It's a relic of a bygone era.

Give us more streaming power! Let the whole family enjoy the game. And maybe, just maybe, avoid a few arguments along the way.
