How Many Cormoran Strike Tv Series Are There

How Many Cormoran Strike Tv Series Are There

Okay, let's talk Cormoran Strike. You know, the gruff detective with the prosthetic leg? The one constantly solving mysteries that make your head spin?

The question is simple (or is it?). How many TV series are there really?

The Official Count

Officially, there isn't a plethora of Cormoran Strike TV series. We have what you might call an "anthology series".

Each book by Robert Galbraith (aka J.K. Rowling) becomes a miniseries or a multi-part episode. So, it's not Season 1, 2, 3... It’s more like "The Cuckoo's Calling" adaptation, then "The Silkworm," and so on.

But Wait… Is It Just Me?

Here's where my slightly unpopular opinion comes in. Does anyone else feel like each "adaptation" is basically its own separate show?

I mean, sure, the main characters are the same: Strike and Robin Ellacott. But the cases? Completely different. The tone? Sometimes shifts slightly.

It feels a bit like saying Poirot or Sherlock Holmes are all one long series. Technically true, but…

Think about it. We get a new mystery each time, new guest stars, new settings. It's a fresh start in many ways. Wouldn’t you agree?

A Case for Independent Series

Each book adaptation has its own distinct vibe. The Cuckoo's Calling feels very different from, say, Troubled Blood.

Some are quick, tightly woven mysteries. Others are sprawling epics. It's like comparing a sprint to a marathon.

The production values and even the on-screen chemistry can subtly evolve. The characters grow; that's true. But isn't that what happens in most long-running shows?

My Unpopular Verdict

So, here it is: I unofficially count them as separate series. Each book adaptation deserves its own celebratory binge-watching session.

I know, I know, it's all connected. Strike and Robin's relationship develops across all the adaptations. There's character development and overarching themes.

But each mystery stands on its own two feet. It has its own beginning, middle, and end.

Let's Agree to Disagree (Maybe)

Ultimately, it's semantics. Call it an anthology, call it a series of miniseries, call it whatever you want!

The important thing is that we all enjoy the grumpy brilliance of Cormoran Strike and the tenacious charm of Robin Ellacott.

And maybe, just maybe, you'll secretly agree with my "separate series" theory. Or not. That's okay too!

Regardless, let's just hope Robert Galbraith keeps writing them, and the BBC keeps adapting them.

More Strike is always a good thing, no matter how you count the series. Who's with me?
