Highschool Dxd Season 1 Episode 1 English Dub

Okay, let's talk about that first episode of Highschool DxD, dubbed in English. You know, the one that makes you go, "Wait, did I just accidentally stumble into something… different?"
A Regular Guy (Or So He Thinks)
Meet Issei Hyodo, our protagonist. He's basically your average high school dude, with the average high school dude desires. Except, well, things are about to get seriously un-average.
He finally scores a date! Imagine the excitement! But this date is… let's just say it takes a turn for the supernatural. A really, really bad turn.

The "Girlfriend" From Heck
So, his first girlfriend isn't exactly who she appears to be. Turns out, she's a fallen angel, and not the kind that's going to help you with your homework.
In fact, she tries to, you know, kill him. Talk about a relationship red flag! I think that's the ultimate bad date story.

Enter the Crimson-Haired Beauty
Just when things are looking bleak for our pal Issei, BAM! Enter Rias Gremory. The most beautiful girl in school. Also, a devil. But a helpful one, for now.
She swoops in and saves him from the fallen angel, but not without a catch. He’s reincarnated as a devil, her servant. Now that's a career change no one saw coming.
Devils, Angels, and High School Shenanigans
Suddenly, Issei's life is a whirlwind of devils, angels, and all sorts of other supernatural beings. And all while trying to navigate high school!

The episode does a decent job of setting up the world, though maybe a little fast. It's a lot to take in! Angels! Devils! Sacred Gears! Oh my!
The English dub is actually pretty good. The voice actors do a great job of capturing the characters' personalities, especially Issei's… enthusiasm.

The "Oppai Dragon" is Born
We see the seeds of Issei’s future… ambitions. Let's just say they involve a certain part of the female anatomy. Hence the nickname. "Oppai Dragon".
It's all played for laughs, of course. And some awkwardness. A lot of awkwardness, actually. Especially if you're watching with your parents.
The episode ends with Issei basically starting his new life as a devil. He is surrounded by beautiful women, but also dangers lurking around every corner.

Is It Worth Watching?
If you're into anime with a bit of action, a lot of fan service, and a healthy dose of the supernatural, then yeah. Highschool DxD might just be your guilty pleasure.
Just go in knowing what you're getting into. It's not Shakespeare, but it is entertaining. And the English dub actually adds to the fun.
So, grab some popcorn, suspend your disbelief, and prepare for the wild ride that is Highschool DxD. You might just find yourself enjoying the crazy antics of Issei and the Gremory household. Just don't say I didn't warn you!
