High School Dxd Season 4 Episode 4

Okay, let's talk High School DxD Season 4 Episode 4. I know, I know, it’s been a while. But something about it sticks in my mind. Maybe for the wrong reasons.
The Great Outdoors... Kind Of
The episode starts with the Occult Research Club heading to the mountains. Yay, team bonding! It's supposed to be a training camp, but let's be real. It’s DxD, so we all knew what was coming.
And sure enough, hijinks ensue. Issei is, well, Issei. Rias is being Rias. You know, the usual.

Unpopular Opinion Time?
Here's where my maybe-unpopular opinion comes in. I think this episode is...fine. Just fine. Is that blasphemy?
Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the show. But something about this particular episode felt like it was dragging its feet. It was like waiting for the pizza to arrive when you're already starving.
The training scenes were okay. Nothing groundbreaking. I felt like I'd seen them before. Maybe that's the charm of the series? Familiarity?

Even the fan service, which, let's face it, is a huge part of DxD, felt a little...muted? It wasn't bad, but it wasn't setting off any fireworks either.
Enter the Archangel... Sort Of
Then the whole thing with the rogue exorcists happens. Okay, now we're getting somewhere. A bit of conflict always spices things up.
And then Michael shows up...or at least, his avatar does. It was intriguing to see the celestial side of things get involved, however briefly.

His presence does set things up for later. So the episode is not completely pointless. It’s more of a building block.
Character Development...?
The episode touches on some character development for Issei. He's trying to get stronger, be a better guy, and all that jazz. Good for him!
He's still the perverted protagonist we all know and love (or love to hate), but there's a glimmer of actual growth. Progress! It's almost enough to make me forget he’s constantly fantasizing.
Rias is also doing her thing, trying to guide and support her team. She’s the ever-reliable president. She's always there to clean up Issei's messes.

Overall Verdict
So, what’s the final verdict? High School DxD Season 4 Episode 4 is...skippable. Okay, maybe not skippable, but not exactly top-tier.
It's like that one song on your favorite album that you always skip. It's not bad, but you'd rather listen to the hits.
It serves its purpose in setting up future events. But on its own, it's just...there. A cog in the machine. It's a bread and butter episode.

Am I being too harsh? Probably. But hey, that's what makes it an unpopular opinion. Bring on the hate comments!
Maybe I was expecting too much. Maybe I was just in a bad mood that day. Maybe I need to rewatch it with a different mindset. Who knows?
But for now, High School DxD Season 4 Episode 4 remains in my mind as the episode that was...just okay.
Ultimately, DxD still has its charm. I will still watch next episode for sure.
