He Literally Just And Started Watching Anime

Okay, people, gather 'round! Something monumental has happened. Life-altering, world-shifting, the kind of news that makes pigeons take notice. I, a previously anime-averse individual, have fallen. Fallen hard. Into the vibrant, quirky, and sometimes downright bizarre world of anime.
Yes, you heard right. Me! The guy who used to raise an eyebrow at anyone uttering the words "waifu" or "kawaii." The one who thought Naruto was a type of fish cake (okay, maybe it is a type of fish cake, but you get my point!).
The Gateway Anime
It all started innocently enough. A friend kept recommending this show, swore it was different. It was called Attack on Titan. I was skeptical, picture giant naked humanoids terrorizing humanity. How could this be anything other than a fever dream?
Must Read
But then I watched it. And I was hooked. The suspense, the action, the surprisingly complex characters... it was like nothing I'd ever seen before.
Rapid Descent into Otaku-dom
From there, it was a slippery slope. One minute I was hesitantly clicking on the next episode of Attack on Titan. The next I was knee-deep in Death Note, contemplating the philosophical implications of a magical notebook that kills anyone whose name is written in it.

I even started saying things like "Nani?!" (What?!) unironically. My cat is judging me. But I regret nothing.
Then came My Hero Academia, filled with aspiring superheroes, amazing fight scenes, and all the feels. I now find myself cheering at the screen, fist-pumping the air like a crazed sports fan.

The Joys of a New World
Discovering anime has been like unlocking a whole new wing of the entertainment mansion in my brain. There's a show for every mood, every genre, every weird little interest you might have.
Suddenly, I understand all the memes. I can participate in conversations about anime tropes. I even know what a tsundere is (a character who is initially cold and hostile but gradually shows a warmer side).
My friends are thrilled. I'm pretty sure they've been trying to convert me for years. Now, they're gleefully recommending shows and testing my anime knowledge.

Potential Problems (and Solutions!)
Okay, there are some downsides. I'm losing sleep. My watchlist is longer than my to-do list. And I might be developing an unhealthy obsession with ramen.
But these are minor inconveniences compared to the sheer joy of discovering a whole new world of stories and characters. Plus, ramen is delicious.

I am going to start limiting myself to two episodes a night, maybe three on weekends. I'll also try to incorporate more non-anime related activities into my life, like, you know, going outside and talking to real people.
"Believe it!" - Naruto Uzumaki
(Sorry, I had to.)
So, if you see me walking around with a glazed look in my eyes, muttering about giant robots or magical girls, please be patient. I'm just processing. And probably thinking about what anime to watch next. The journey has just begun!
