Hatsune Miku Project Diva Mega Mix +

Okay, Let's Talk Miku: An Unpopular Opinion or Two
Confession time: I might be slightly addicted to Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Mega Mix +. Like, slightly. It's probably healthy, right?
Don't get me wrong, I love rhythm games. But sometimes, I think I’m playing this particular game… well, wrong. Hear me out.
The Fashion Show of Fury
Let's be real, the outfits are half the fun! We can dress Miku and the gang in all sorts of wacky outfits. I spend more time choosing the perfect hairstyle than perfecting my button presses.
Must Read
I love the module system. I just find it sometimes overbearing. Does anyone else feel overwhelmed by the sheer volume of clothing?
It's like, "Oh, you want to perfectly clear this song? Better make sure Miku is wearing the 'Good Luck' amulet AND the 'Stylish Headphones' accessory!" It gets a little much!

Button Mashing Bliss (or Maybe Not)
I'll admit, sometimes I just mash buttons. Especially on the harder difficulties. Is that cheating? I don't know, but it's definitely therapeutic.
Seeing that star rating go up gives dopamine. It also makes me wonder if I'm actually getting better at the game, or if I'm just getting better at chaotic button mashing. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Also, can we talk about those star notes? You flick the stick or tap the screen at the right time for bonus points! But it's the end of me. Like, my brain just short-circuits whenever those stars appear on screen.
The Endless Song List (and My Everlasting Debt)
The song list is HUGE! We are talking hundreds of songs. It’s awesome…and terrifying.

I'll probably never play them all, and that's okay. But the sheer volume of DLC costumes and songs is pretty frightening. My wallet cries a little every time a new pack comes out. I mean, SEGA is just milking us, right?
I have downloaded more content that I can possibly play. I may need a Miku intervention soon.

Am I the Only One?
I suspect many people probably feel the same way. Project Diva Mega Mix + is fantastic! It is also a little bit ridiculous.
I think that is a pretty perfect mix. It's why I keep coming back for more. Maybe I'm not playing it "right", but I'm definitely having fun.
And isn't that what gaming is all about? Button mashing, questionable fashion choices, and eternal debt to SEGA. Let's dance!
