The side characters are charming, sure. But they often feel like plot devices. They exist to admire Rimuru's awesomeness.

Where do you go from there? It gets hard to care when the stakes are so ridiculously high. Who is really invested when it is obvious that Rimuru will win?

I miss the days when Rimuru struggled. Remember when he had to actually think about his next move? Now he just obliterates everything.

Still Watchable? Absolutely!

Don't get me wrong. Slime is visually appealing. The world is well-built. There is an addictive quality to watching Rimuru's nation grow.

The humor is decent. Some of the characters are genuinely likable. It's a solid isekai adventure.

It's just... not the masterpiece some people make it out to be. It doesn't break any new ground.
