Ghost Recon Breakpoint Don't Kill The Messenger

Okay, let's talk Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Remember that mission, "Don't Kill The Messenger"? Yeah, that one.
Unpopular Opinion Incoming!
I'm just gonna say it. I think it's... fun.
I know, I know. People hate escort missions. But hear me out!
Must Read
Escort Duty... Seriously?
Everyone groans at the thought of protecting someone in a video game. It’s usually a frustrating exercise in futility.
Your "ally" has the IQ of a toaster oven. They run headfirst into enemy fire. They love getting stuck on scenery.
You're basically a babysitter armed with a sniper rifle.
But Breakpoint Did It Differently... Right?
Okay, maybe Breakpoint didn't reinvent the wheel. But that mission wasn't as bad as some make it out to be.

The messenger, Tracey Weaver, actually stayed relatively close. She wasn’t trying to win a Darwin Award.
For once, I felt like I had some control over the situation. And that's a major win!
The Tension Was Real
The mission's strength was its tension. You knew the Sentinel forces were hunting her.
Every rustle of leaves had you on edge. Every distant gunshot made your heart skip a beat.

It was a constant game of cat and mouse, trying to anticipate their next move. It was fun stealthing around, taking out enemies silently.
Strategic Stealth For The Win
Sure, blasting through everything is an option. But it’s not always the best one in this mission.
I found myself carefully planning my routes. I used my drone for recon, marking enemies.
It felt good to use the game's tools and tactics to their full potential.
Maybe I'm Just Weird
Look, maybe I'm just easily entertained. Or maybe I have a soft spot for challenging missions.

But I genuinely enjoyed "Don't Kill The Messenger". It forced me to be patient and strategic.
It reminded me that Ghost Recon isn’t always about guns blazing. Sometimes it's about smart tactics and teamwork (even if the "team" is just you and a slightly-less-dumb-than-usual NPC).
Embrace The Challenge?
I'm not saying it's perfect. It had its moments of frustration, sure.
But overall, it was a memorable experience. It definitely stood out from some of the more generic missions.

So, next time you replay Breakpoint, give "Don't Kill The Messenger" another shot. You might be surprised.
Maybe, just maybe, you'll find yourself enjoying it too. Or maybe you'll just hate me. Either way, at least we talked about it!
And who knows? Maybe I'll even admit I was wrong... eventually.
Nah, probably not.
Just kidding... sort of.
