Futurama Returns With 20 New Episodes Coming To Hulu
Good news, everyone! Futurama is back! Again!
Hulu is giving us 20 new episodes. Get ready to binge. Will they be good? Let's discuss.
Fry's Back...Again
Philip J. Fry is back. Leela is back. Bender is back. The whole Planet Express crew is back for more intergalactic shenanigans.
Must Read
It feels like Futurama has been resurrected more times than Kenny from South Park. I am not complaining.
But...are we sure we need more? Don't get me wrong, I love the show. But at some point, nostalgia has to tap out.
Is More Futurama Always Better? (Unpopular Opinion Alert!)
Here's my slightly controversial take: not all Futurama comebacks have been home runs. Some have been, dare I say, meh.
Remember those movies they did? Some were great. Some felt…stretched. Like Fry trying to reach that vending machine button.

The later seasons had some amazing episodes. But there were also moments where you thought, "Okay, guys, you're phoning it in a little."
Let's be real: Can they recapture the magic of the original run? That's the real question. That's what keeps me up at night.
Bender's Shiny Metal Expectations
Bender is my spirit animal. He perfectly encapsulates my desire for beer and avoidance of responsibility.
His one-liners are legendary. He represents the essence of sarcasm. Can the new episodes deliver on the Bender front?
I hope they don't try to make him "woke" or something. Bender needs to be Bender. He needs to be his morally questionable self.

Give us more "Bite my shiny metal ass!" and less "Bender reflects on his societal impact." I think most fans would agree with me.
Leela: More Than Just a Cyclops
Leela is the glue that holds Planet Express together. She's the responsible one. The capable one. And she only has one eye.
I really hope they give her some good storylines. Something beyond just being Fry's love interest. She deserves more depth.
Give her a challenging mission! Have her question her life choices! Make her fight a giant space slug! Just give her something juicy.
Fry: The Eternal Delivery Boy
Fry is…well, Fry. He's not the brightest bulb in the box. But he's got heart. And he's accidentally saved the universe a few times.

I hope they don't try to make him suddenly intelligent. Part of his charm is his blissful ignorance. Don't ruin it!
Keep him clumsy. Keep him lovably dumb. Keep him delivering pizzas. This is the Fry we all know and love.
What We (Hopefully) Want From The New Episodes
Clever writing. That's the key. The original Futurama was so smart.
It wasn't just funny. It was also thought-provoking. It made you laugh and think.
Good jokes. We need those. Puns, sight gags, witty dialogue. The works.

Heartfelt moments. Yes, even Futurama can be emotional. Remember Seymour? We all cried.
And finally, let's hope the new episodes honor the legacy of the show. Let’s bring Futurama back for good.
So, Hulu, please don't screw this up. The fate of Futurama – and my entertainment schedule – rests in your hands.
I guess we will have to wait and see. But I have faith in Matt Groening and David X. Cohen.
I am cautiously optimistic. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch "Jurassic Bark" and cry a little.
