Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 4

Okay, let's talk about Fear The Walking Dead. Specifically, Season 7, Episode 4. "Breathe With Me."
An Ode to the Unpopular Opinion
I know, I know. Season 7 is... divisive. But hear me out! I actually enjoyed this episode. Is that a crime?
Maybe it's my low expectations talking. Or maybe I just have a soft spot for ridiculous zombie storylines. Either way, let's dive in!
Must Read
The Searching Game
So, Sarah Rabinowitz is determined to find Wendell. And by "determined," I mean she's willing to risk life and limb in a radioactive wasteland.
We get it, Sarah. You miss your brother. But maybe dial back the desperation just a tad?
And Dwight and Sherry are there! Being all coupley, and supportive, and... relatively sane. They are the sweet couple in this season. They are trying to talk some sense into Sarah, which we all know is gonna work out.
Radioactive Shenanigans
Okay, the radioactive zombies were a bit much. I mean, we've had zombie guts, zombie hordes, even zombie animals. But glowing zombies? Really?

But hey, at least it gave us some cool visuals! Plus, it added a layer of urgency to the whole "finding Wendell" thing. As if radiation poisoning and killer hordes weren't enough!
The show basically became Fallout. And honestly, Fallout is kinda cool.
The Morgan Factor
Of course, Morgan Jones had to show up. Because no zombie apocalypse is complete without Morgan's philosophical ramblings.
He is just a magnet to the problem, he just shows up. Can he just go find his kid?

I love Morgan, I just think he needs a vacation. A long one. On a beach. Far, far away from zombies.
Wendell's Grand Reveal
Turns out, Wendell is not kidnapped, not dead. He's just… chilling at the Tower! With Victor Strand. What a twist!
I'm sure we are all surprised that Victor Strand would do that, because it's totally not his style. I am being sarcastic, of course.
This whole episode felt like a setup. Like they were just maneuvering pieces into place for the big showdown between Morgan and Strand.

The Real MVP: Communication
The whole conflict would have been resolved if people just talked to each other! Seriously, a simple phone call could have saved everyone a lot of trouble.
But then we wouldn't have an episode, would we? So, thanks for the drama, I guess?
I'm starting to think the real apocalypse is just a massive communication breakdown. We are already living this one.
My Hot Take: It Was Fine!
Look, I'm not saying this episode was perfect. It had its flaws. The glowing zombies were silly. The dialogue was sometimes clunky.

But it was entertaining! It moved the plot forward. And it gave us more of Dwight and Sherry, who are adorable. What's not to love?
So, sue me! I enjoyed "Breathe With Me." It was a fun, if somewhat ridiculous, ride. Now, bring on the next episode!
I will finish with this, don't take it too seriously. It is just a tv show.
