Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 3

"Cindy Hawkins" - More Like 'Cindy Yawkins,' Am I Right?
Okay, let's be honest. Fear The Walking Dead Season 7 Episode 3, "Cindy Hawkins," wasn't exactly setting the world on fire. Maybe I'm being harsh. But someone has to say it!
We get it, Strand is building his little tower of terror. And Howard is... well, Howard-ing. Are we really supposed to care about a random radio broadcast?
The Dwight & Sherry Show... Again?
Don't get me wrong, I love Dwight and Sherry. Their relationship is actually pretty darn heartwarming in a zombie apocalypse. But are they really the most compelling characters to build an entire episode around?
Must Read
It felt like filler, didn't it? Like the writers were stretching things out to make the season longer. No offense to Dwight and Sherry shippers, of course.
We already know they'll do anything for each other. This episode just seemed to repeat that point. Loudly.
Howard: The Most Annoying Bureaucrat Ever?
Howard… oh, Howard. He's like the guy who enforces the dress code in the apocalypse. Does anyone actually like him? Show of hands? (I see no hands).

Seriously, who made him the rules guy? And why is Strand listening to him? Doesn't make sense.
I'm convinced that Howard's true superpower is the ability to make any situation incredibly boring. Even with zombies involved.
The Tower: A Shiny Distraction?
Strand's tower is shiny, I'll give it that. But is it actually interesting? I'm starting to think it's just a really expensive set piece.

It feels like the show wants us to be impressed by its architectural marvel. Meanwhile, I'm just over here wondering where the actual plot went.
Is the Tower the safest place? Yes. Is the Tower the most interesting thing happening in Fear The Walking Dead? Sadly, no.
My Unpopular Opinion? It Needed More Zombies!
Call me crazy, but I miss the hordes. I miss the heart-pounding chases. I miss the creative zombie kills. This episode had, like, three zombies max.
I signed up for a zombie show, not a political drama set in a high-rise apartment. Where's the brain-eating action, people?!

Maybe that's just me. But sometimes, a good zombie attack is all you need to spice things up. Instead, we get Howard lecturing people on proper etiquette.
The Ending: A Slight Ray of Hope?
Okay, the ending wasn't terrible. I'll admit, there were some intriguing hints about Strand's true intentions. Maybe.
But did it make up for the previous 40 minutes of... not much? Debatable.

Hopefully, it's setting up something bigger and better. Please, Fear The Walking Dead, don't let us down!
Overall Grade: C- (For Cindy's Lack of Convincing Radio Voice)
Look, I'm not saying "Cindy Hawkins" was the worst episode ever. But it definitely wasn't the best. It felt like a missed opportunity.
Maybe it's just me, but I'm hoping the show kicks it up a notch. More zombies, less Howard, and a plot that actually moves forward.
What do you think? Am I being too harsh? Let me know!
