Fear The Walking Dead Season 4 Episode 2

A Little "Everybody Pays" Rant (aka Confessions of a Semi-Fan)
Okay, let's talk Fear the Walking Dead. Specifically, Season 4, Episode 2: "Everybody Pays." Some people loved it. I... have thoughts.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was terrible. I mean, zombies. There's always something to watch, right?
The Good, The Bad, and The... Fertilizer
The introduction of John Dorie was fantastic! I instantly liked this quirky, gunslinging sweetheart. Garret Dillahunt nailed it.
Must Read
And the connection between John and Naomi/Laura/June was sweet. A breath of fresh, somewhat awkward, air in the apocalypse.
But. And there's always a "but," isn't there? This episode focused a lot on Madison's group building their little sanctuary at the stadium.
It felt... slow. Like watching paint dry. Apocalypse-flavored paint, but still.

My Unpopular Opinion: Stadium Life Wasn't That Interesting
Now, here comes the controversial part. I wasn't super invested in the stadium storyline. I'll admit it.
We got it. They built walls, planted crops, and tried to create a normal life. But was it gripping television? For me, not really.
It felt like a prolonged episode of Extreme Home Makeover: Zombie Edition. Only with more fertilizer. Seriously, so much fertilizer!
The Vultures parked outside the stadium? A bit menacing, sure. But mostly they were just... waiting. Patiently. Menacingly.

A Little Too Much Flashback, Not Enough Bang
I understand the need for flashbacks. They fill in the gaps, provide context, and explain character motivations.
But "Everybody Pays" felt flashback-heavy. Less "present-day zombie action," more "remember when we built this wall?".
Maybe I'm just impatient. I want walkers chomping, people screaming, and shocking twists that leave me speechless. Is that too much to ask?

Justice For Naomi! (Or Laura. Or June.)
Okay, confession time again. I was way more interested in John and Naomi/Laura/June's story. Their chemistry was undeniable.
Jenna Elfman did a great job portraying her. I still not sure what to call her, but she's awesome!
Their little scenes together were the highlight of the episode, for me. I cared about their struggles. I wanted them to find happiness, or at least, zombie-free survival.
In Conclusion: Needs More Zombies (and Less Fertilizer)
So, "Everybody Pays" wasn't my favorite Fear the Walking Dead episode. I said it.

While I appreciated the character development and backstory, it felt a little too slow for my taste. I just hoping for more zombies and less farming.
But hey, that's just one opinion. Maybe you loved the episode. Maybe you thought the stadium was a brilliant piece of post-apocalyptic engineering. That's okay!
Let's agree to disagree... and tune in next week to see what happens next. Maybe the zombies will finally get a chance to shine!
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go binge-watch some zombie movies. And maybe avoid fertilizer for a while.
