Everybody Hates Chris Season 4 Episode 22
The Chris Rock of it All: A Not-So-Serious Look at Everybody Hates Chris S4 E22
Okay, let's talk about "Everybody Hates Chris: Everybody Hates the Car." Season 4, episode 22. The one where Julius gets a second job. And Chris tries to learn to drive.
Julius: The King of Side Hustles
Julius, played by the amazing Terry Crews, gets another job? Surprise! This man is legendary. He squeezes every penny he can.
Seeing him become "Fun Julius" at the pizza place is hilarious. Though, is it just me, or did it feel a little out of character?
Must Read
Maybe I'm the only one who thinks so. It was still funny, I admit it. But Fun Julius felt… forced? A tiny bit?
Chris Takes the Wheel (and Almost Crashes)
Then there's Chris. He wants to learn to drive. Naturally, chaos ensues. Poor Rochelle.
Driving with Chris looks terrifying! He's so eager. He is also so very clueless.

His driving instructor, Mr. Barrett, is a saint. Seriously. I wouldn’t last 5 minutes.
Anyone else think Mr. Barrett deserved a raise? Or at least a lifetime supply of antacids?
The Unsung Hero: Drew
Here's where my unpopular opinion comes in. I think Drew is the real MVP of this episode.
While Chris struggles, Drew is effortlessly cool. He has all the girls swooning over him.

He’s calm, collected, and probably already knows how to drive. All while Chris is panicking behind the wheel.
Drew barely gets any screen time this episode. But when he does, he steals the show. Subtly, of course. That's his charm.
Rochelle: The Voice of Reason (and Hysteria)
And let’s not forget Rochelle. Played by the always fabulous Tichina Arnold.
Her reactions to everything are priceless. Especially when Julius is being extra cheap, or Chris is being extra… Chris.

Her saying "I don't need this, I don't need this" is comedy gold. It's also so relatable.
The Episode's Message (Maybe?)
Maybe the episode's trying to say something deep about responsibility. About growing up. Or about the dangers of letting teenagers drive.
Honestly, I was just laughing too hard to notice. Sorry, deep thinkers.
Final Thoughts (and More Unpopular Opinions)
Overall, "Everybody Hates the Car" is a solid episode. It's got the classic Everybody Hates Chris humor.

But is it a top-tier episode? Hmm. I’m not convinced.
Maybe it’s because I wanted more Drew. Maybe it’s because Fun Julius felt a bit off. Maybe I just had a weird craving for pizza.
Either way, it’s still a fun watch. Just don’t ask me to ride shotgun with Chris. I value my life too much.
So, what do you think? Am I crazy? Did you love Fun Julius? Did Drew deserve more screen time? Let's discuss!
