Dylan Dreyer Exits Weekend Today After 9 Years As Meteorologist

Alright, weather fans, gather 'round! Dylan Dreyer, our sunshine-loving meteorologist, is saying "so long" to Weekend Today. Nine years, folks! That's like...a meteorological era!

She's been slinging forecasts since 2014. And now, she's off to…well, more of everything else, apparently. More family time, more daytime Today appearances. Less 3 a.m. wake-up calls, we assume!

Farewell, Weekend Sunshine!

Let’s be honest. Waking up early on the weekend to catch the news? Heroic. Actually enjoying waking up early for the weekend news? Almost superhuman.

And Dylan made it bearable! She always had a smile brighter than the summer sun (even when predicting snowstorms, which is a true skill). We'll definitely miss her warmth on those Saturday and Sunday mornings.

But here's my slightly unpopular opinion: maybe, just maybe, this is a good thing for all of us. Especially Dylan!

The Case for Sleeping In (and Dylan, too!)

Seriously, think about it. Weekend schedules are brutal. Especially when you're trying to juggle family life. We've all been there, right? Running on caffeine and sheer willpower.

And honestly, as much as we adore seeing her on TV, a well-rested Dylan is probably a better Dylan. Happier, more energetic, and ready to tackle those daytime segments with gusto!

Plus, consider this: now she can actually experience weekends! Brunch dates! Soccer games! Errands that aren't followed by a news broadcast! The possibilities are endless!

More Dylan, Less Early Alarms?

Don't worry, Dylan devotees! She's not disappearing entirely. She’ll still be part of the Today family, just in a slightly different capacity. Think more daytime appearances, less pre-dawn forecasting.

This means more opportunities to catch her during the week. Which, let's be real, is when most of us are actually awake and coherent enough to absorb weather information. It's a win-win!

It also begs the question: who fills those weekend weather shoes? That’s the real drama here! Stay tuned, folks, because the plot is thickening faster than pea soup during a polar vortex!
