Drawings Of Deku From My Hero Academia

Okay, let's talk about Deku. You know, from My Hero Academia. Specifically, drawings of him.
I have thoughts. Potentially controversial ones.
The 'Adorable' Problem
Everyone draws Deku so...sweet. Don't get me wrong, he is a cinnamon roll. But sometimes, it's too much.
Must Read
Like, did he just fall out of a basket of kittens? Is he auditioning for a Care Bear reboot? I'm not sure!
Maybe it's just me. But I crave some grit!
The Hair, Oh God, The Hair!
His hair is a character in itself. I get it. It's spiky, green, and kinda wild.
But some artists take it to the extreme! It's like a broccoli explosion. Or a sentient chia pet.

Less broccoli, more hero, please!
Muscle Mania
He's a hero, right? He's gotta be ripped! Lots of Deku art shows him looking super buff.
But sometimes the proportions are...unrealistic. Like, he skips leg day...every day.
And his upper body looks like it's about to burst out of his costume. Ease up on the weights, buddy!
The "Crying Deku" Trope
Okay, I KNOW Deku cries a lot. It's part of his charm...sort of.

But every other drawing is him sobbing. Big, anime tears streaming down his face. He is too emotional sometimes!
Come on, give the guy a break! He needs a hug, not another art study of his tear ducts.
Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Here comes the heat. Prepare yourselves.
I think…some Deku fan art is…boring. I know, I know. Heresy!
It's not the skill! The artists are often incredibly talented. It's the pose, the expression, the same old tropes.

We need more dynamic Deku! More action! More…something other than crying in the rain!
Where's The Quirky Creativity?
Give me a Deku riding a giant frog! A Deku doing the Macarena! A Deku fighting a giant robot made of marshmallows!
Okay, maybe not the marshmallows. But you get my point.
Let's see some artists really go wild with his character. Push the boundaries! Think outside the box!
In Defense Of The Artists
Look, I'm not trying to bash anyone's art. Drawing is hard! Creating anything is hard!

And there's tons of amazing Deku art out there. Seriously impressive stuff.
This is just my slightly warped perspective on the subject. Take it with a grain of salt (and maybe a sprinkle of sugar).
Final Thoughts (For Now)
Maybe I just want to see Deku drawn in a different way. A way that surprises me. Challenges me.
Or maybe I just need more coffee. Either way, keep creating! Keep drawing! Keep being awesome!
Just…maybe lay off the broccoli hair a little.
