Dragon Ball Z Super Final Episode 131

Remember Episode 131? Yeah, That One...
Okay, let's be honest. We all watched the final episode of Dragon Ball Super. Episode 131! So epic! Right?
But...did anyone else feel a tiny bit underwhelmed? Don't get me wrong, it was good. Just maybe...not final-episode-of-a-saga good?
The Spirit Bomb's Grand Finale (Sort Of)
The whole Universe 7 team-up against Jiren was cool. Goku, Vegeta, Android 17...everyone chipped in. Pretty heartwarming to see them working together, finally!
Must Read
Android 17's sacrifice was great. A true hero! Gave us all the feels, didn't it?
But let’s be real. Did it feel…earned? Like we really saw everyone pushed to their absolute limit before the spirit bomb?
Goku and Frieza: Frenemies Forever
Then comes the amazing team-up. Goku and Frieza throwing Jiren out of the ring! Seriously, legendary.
But the end! With both Goku and Frieza eliminated along with Jiren was great. The animation was top-tier!

But the episode still felt like, the calm before a bigger storm. It felt more like a pitstop than the final destination. Agree?
The Lack of True Danger?
Maybe it's just me, but I didn’t feel the crushing sense of dread I usually associate with a Dragon Ball Z finale.
Remember the Cell Saga? Or the Buu Saga? Now that was intense. Universe 7 was doomed if they failed!
In Episode 131, it felt like… even if they lost, things wouldn't be that bad. Zeno would probably just erase them and then make them again later. No biggie!

The "Happy" Ending (Too Happy?)
Everyone’s alive. Everyone’s friends (sort of). Everything’s…fine. A little too fine maybe?
Dragon Ball Z always had that bittersweet aftertaste. Someone died. Something was lost. The victory came at a price.
Here? Pretty much everyone got a participation trophy. Felt a little too Disney, you know?
My Unpopular Opinion: It's Still Good!
Look, I'm not saying Episode 131 was bad. It wasn't. It had great moments. Goku being Goku, Frieza being deliciously evil, fantastic animation!

But as a final episode? As the culmination of a whole saga? Maybe it just didn’t hit quite as hard as it could have.
Perhaps I'm holding it to an impossible standard. Nostalgia's a powerful drug, after all.
What Could Have Been?
Maybe more focus on the consequences of losing the tournament? Perhaps showing the other universes reacting to the potential erasure?
Or maybe just a slightly higher body count? Just kidding! (Mostly.)

Ultimately, Dragon Ball Super Episode 131 was enjoyable. But that final burst of power felt less like the end of an era, and more like a "See you next season!"
Am I Alone?
So, am I the only one who feels this way? Or did anyone else find themselves wanting just a little bit more from the ending of Dragon Ball Super?
Let me know in the comments! (If there were comments.)
And remember, whatever your opinion, we all love Dragon Ball! And that's what really matters. Now, where's that next season?
