Dragon Ball Super Super Hero Box Office

Okay, let’s talk Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Remember that movie? The one with all the…orange Piccolo?
Did it actually do that well?
Everyone went nuts, right? Box office records were broken. Critics were… mostly positive? I feel like I'm the only one who thinks, "Meh, it was okay."
Seriously, the hype was insane! It felt like the whole world was suddenly obsessed with Gohan Beast. Did everyone forget about the other movies?

Unpopular Opinion Alert!
Don’t get me wrong. It wasn’t a bad movie. But was it the best Dragon Ball movie ever? Absolutely not!
I think nostalgia played a big part. We all grew up with Dragon Ball. So, seeing our childhood heroes again hits differently.
And hey, orange Piccolo! Who could resist that glorious shade of citrusy superhero? I gotta admit, that design was kinda cool.

Box Office Boom: But Why?
The box office numbers were impressive. It made a ton of money worldwide. More money than Krillin has hairs on his head!
But was it really the movie itself? Or was it just the Dragon Ball name? I’m leaning towards the latter, honestly.
Marketing played a HUGE role. They teased Gohan Beast for months. Everyone was desperate to see him in action.

Is it overhyped? A tiny bit, maybe.
Look, I love Dragon Ball. I've been watching it since I was a kid. But sometimes, I think we get a little carried away.
We see a new transformation and lose our minds! We forget about the plot holes and the recycled storylines.
It's like, we're so happy to see our favorite characters that we'll forgive anything. We are easily pleased, aren't we?

The Animation Style: Love it or Hate it?
The 3D animation was… different. Some people loved it, some people hated it. I was somewhere in the middle.
It definitely took some getting used to. It wasn’t the classic 2D animation we’re all familiar with. At least, it's not what I grew up with!
It looked like a video game cutscene at times. That said, it allowed for some pretty dynamic fight scenes, didn't it?

A Friendly Debate
So, here's my unpopular opinion. Super Hero was a fun movie. But it wasn’t a masterpiece.
It capitalized on nostalgia and hype. It gave us cool transformations and some awesome fight scenes. It was good, not genre-defining, though.
Now, bring on the hate comments! I'm ready for you! Let's hear why I'm wrong and why Super Hero is the greatest movie ever made.
I welcome the friendly debate, I might even reconsider. Who knows?
