Doraemon Nobita's New Great Adventure Into The Underworld

Was Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure Into The Underworld Actually... Good?
Okay, okay, hear me out. I know what you're thinking. Another Doraemon movie? Same old formula, right? But is it, though?
I’m here to stir the pot. I'm going to say it: this movie is secretly a masterpiece. At least, a very underrated one.
The Magic School is... Kinda Awesome?
Let's be real, the idea of a magic school is overdone. Harry Potter, Little Witch Academia, you name it. But somehow, Doraemon manages to make it feel fresh.
Must Read
Maybe it's because of Nobita's sheer ineptitude. Watching him try to cast spells is comedy gold.
And let’s not forget the visual gags! Hilarious costumes and transformations. Pure Doraemon charm!
More than Just Silliness
It's easy to dismiss Doraemon as just silly kids' entertainment. But this movie sneaks in some surprisingly heavy themes.

The struggle against evil Dabura is legitimately intense. He is threatening to turn the whole world into a magical one. But the film dives into the implications of wielding great power.
It's not just about blasting bad guys with spells. It's about responsibility and the dangers of unchecked ambition. Deep stuff, right?
Gian and Suneo are Surprisingly... Helpful?
Usually, Gian and Suneo are just there to bully Nobita. But in this movie, they actually pull their weight.

Sure, they still have their moments of cowardice. But they step up when it counts. This made me actually like them, maybe?
It's a nice change of pace to see them as actual friends. Supporting Nobita instead of just laughing at him.
The Ending... Hits Different
I won't spoil anything, but the ending of this movie is surprisingly emotional. It's not just a happy-go-lucky resolution.
There are real consequences and sacrifices made. It leaves you with a lingering feeling of bittersweetness.

For a kids' movie, it's surprisingly mature. Did I cry a little? Maybe. No judgement!
Unpopular Opinion Time
So, here's my unpopular opinion: Doraemon: Nobita's New Great Adventure Into The Underworld is better than some other Doraemon movies. I SAID IT!
It's got heart, humor, and surprisingly complex themes. All wrapped up in a magical adventure.

Give it another watch. You might be surprised at how much you enjoy it. I dare you!
Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe it's the surprisingly good animation, or maybe it’s just that the magical school setting is really well done. Whatever the reason, I’m a fan.
Is this film going down as a cinematic masterpiece? Probably not. But it’s a lot better than some people give it credit for.
I think it deserves a little more love. So next time you're scrolling through streaming services, give Nobita's magical adventure a chance.
You might just find yourself under its spell!
