Don't Toy With Me Miss Nagatoro Episode 7

Nagatoro Episode 7: Beach Shenanigans! (and my unpopular opinion)
Okay, let's dive into Episode 7 of Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro. Beach episode, anyone? You know what that means!
Sun, sand, and a whole lot of teasing. Nagatoro, of course, is in prime form. Poor Senpai doesn't stand a chance.
We get the classic beach episode tropes. Water fights, awkward situations, and maybe a little bit of character development.
Must Read
The Good Stuff
The animation was pretty good this time around. Especially the water effects. They really captured the sunny beach vibe. Good job Silver Link!
I did chuckle at Senpai's attempts to be cool. He tries so hard, it's almost painful to watch. Bless his heart.
And let's be honest, Nagatoro's teasing is, at times, actually kind of cute. In a twisted, sadistic way, of course.

My Unpopular Opinion (Brace Yourselves!)
Okay, here it comes. Don't hate me. I actually thought this episode was...just okay.
Yeah, I said it. I wasn't blown away. The beach episode felt a bit predictable. Like they were just checking off a list.
It felt a little bit too much on-the-nose. The constant teasing almost felt repetitive, even for Nagatoro. I want more layers!

I needed something...more. A bit more depth, maybe? A genuine moment of connection between Nagatoro and Senpai that isn't immediately followed by her making fun of him.
Was it bad? No way!
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it. Nagatoro is still entertaining. Senpai's suffering is still hilariously relatable. But this is coming from someone who reads a lot of manga.
The comedic timing was still on point. And I did appreciate seeing the other characters getting involved. Their shenanigans added to the chaos.
It's like eating your favorite snack, but then realizing you've had it too many times. It's still good, but it's lost a little bit of its sparkle.

The Teasing Intensifies (as always)
What I will say is that, this episode did have me wondering what Nagatoro sees in Senpai. Like, seriously? He's such a pushover, I wouldn't be able to resist to play with him too.
There has to be something more than just her enjoying tormenting him. Does she secretly admire his kindness? His dedication? His... artistic skills?
Maybe she's just bored. But I really do think there is something there, a small amount of respect and admiration.

And I still think he's a really sweet and kind guy, Senpai. In the end.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Episode 7 of Don't Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro was a decent beach episode. Good animation, funny moments, but maybe a little bit too predictable.
I'm hoping for a little more substance in future episodes. More character development, less constant teasing (or at least teasing with a little more heart). I hope for Senpai's sake!
But hey, that's just my opinion. What did you think? Let me know in the comments!
