So, How I Met Your Father...it's over. Officially. Canceled. Kaput.

The End of the Story (Maybe?)

But here's the thing. Did it really get canceled? Or did it just...end?

I know, I know, unpopular opinion alert! But hear me out.

We all have shows we adore. Shows that get the ax way too soon. Shows that leave us screaming at our TVs: "Why?!"

How I Met Your Father had two seasons. That's a decent run, right?

Think about it. Two whole years of dating mishaps and apartment shenanigans.

Maybe the show just...told its story. Or at least, all the story it wanted to tell.

Some shows drag on forever. They jump the shark so hard they're practically swimming with them.

How I Met Your Father avoided that fate. It bowed out gracefully. Or, at least, less awkwardly than some breakups.

Sure, we didn't get all the answers. We didn't see every single detail of Sophie's journey to finding "the one."

But maybe that's okay. Maybe some mystery is a good thing.

Plus, let's be real. We all knew who the dad was anyway. Didn't we?

Look, I loved How I Met Your Mother. I truly did.

But that ending? Oof. Still stings a little.

But did it need more seasons? I'm not so sure.

It gave us some laughs. It gave us some cringeworthy moments. It gave us Hilary Duff being charming as always.

And sometimes, that's enough. Sometimes, a show can be perfectly enjoyable without becoming a ten-season behemoth.
