The darkness of Iron Lake somehow amplified Dexter's inner darkness. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing (or maybe a lumberjack in plaid?).

And that plaid! Iconic. Fight me.

The setting in New Blood really highlighted the challenge Dexter faced.

Hiding dark secrets is hard anywhere, but in a small town where everyone knows your coffee order? Forget about it.

He’s dating the police chief, that's just asking for trouble.

Also, imagine trying to dispose of a body in all that snow. Talk about a challenge!

I'm not condoning anything, of course. I’m just saying, logistics-wise, Miami was a much easier place to be a serial killer.

Ultimately, the change of scenery in Dexter: New Blood was a smart move.

It breathed new life into the character and the story.

Whether you loved Iron Lake or missed Miami, the location played a huge part.

It was more than just a backdrop; it was a character in itself, adding layers of suspense and intrigue.
