When DOES Tanjiro Become a Demon? (Hear Me Out!)

We all know the story. Tanjiro wants to turn Nezuko back into a human. Simple enough, right?

But here's my possibly unpopular opinion. I think Tanjiro already has a little demon in him. And no, I'm not talking about his inner rage.

Not That Episode, Exactly...

Everyone's always asking, "What episode does Tanjiro become a demon?!" They’re thinking of a specific moment, a dramatic transformation. But that's not what I mean at all.

I'm not talking about a full-blown demon conversion, okay? I mean, doesn't he show traits... already? Think about it!

Think about his willpower! It's practically superhuman. Is that purely human?

Exhibit A: The Headbutt Heard 'Round the World

Remember that headbutt on Sanemi? Dude barely flinched! That's not normal headbutt strength. That's something else entirely.

And what about his sense of smell? He can sniff out demons from miles away. Normal human noses don't do that.

Seriously, my nose just smells pizza. Tanjiro's is detecting ancient evil! A bit unfair, frankly.

Exhibit B: That Unwavering Resolve

Let's be honest. Tanjiro goes through absolute hell. Constant battles. Losing loved ones. Yet, he keeps going.

Most of us would be curled up in a ball, mainlining ice cream. Tanjiro? He's perfecting his Water Breathing Technique. I wish i had this resolve.

Is that sheer willpower, or is there something... more? A little demon spark of "I REFUSE TO GIVE UP!"? I suspect the latter.

The Sympathy Card: A Demon's Weakness?

Okay, I'll admit, he's ridiculously empathetic. Maybe that's not a demon trait. Maybe that's his humanity shining through.

But even demons show glimpses of their former selves, right? Maybe Tanjiro's empathy is a holdover from something else too. A demon trait in reverse?

Perhaps deep in side him, this is how he truly feels!

The Real Question: Does it Even Matter?

Ultimately, does it really matter if Tanjiro has a little demon in him? I think not. He's still a good guy. Mostly.

He fights for what's right. He cares about his sister. He wants to protect everyone.

Maybe we all have a little demon inside of us. It's what we do with it that counts. Right?

So, if you're still waiting for the big, dramatic episode where Tanjiro sprouts horns and starts breathing fire... you might be waiting a while.

My answer? He's always had a touch of the demonic. It’s just that he chooses to use it for good.
