Demon Slayer Season 2 Episode 1 English Dub

Demon Slayer Dub: Is Episode 1 a Little…Much?
Okay, let's talk Demon Slayer. We all love it, right? Swords, demons, cool breathing techniques... what's not to like?
But, and this is a BIG but, does anyone else feel like the English dub of Season 2, Episode 1, is just…a lot? I'm bracing for impact here, but I'm just putting it out there.
The Volume's Up, Way Up!
I swear, I had to adjust my TV volume like ten times. It's either whisper quiet or full-on screaming match.
Must Read
Maybe it's just me? Am I getting old? Or are they trying to make up for lost time since we had to wait for the dub in the first place?
Honestly, it feels like everyone is yelling ALL THE TIME! Tanjiro, Zenitsu, even that poor train conductor sounds like he's about to blow a gasket.
Dramatic? Or Over-the-Top?
Demon Slayer is dramatic, sure. It's about demons eating people! But the dub feels… extra dramatic. Like, soap opera level dramatic.

I know they’re trying to convey emotion. But I feel like I'm being emotionally manipulated. Is that too harsh?
The voice acting is good, don't get me wrong. Everyone's talented. It's just the intensity...someone needs to tell them to dial it back a notch!
Zenitsu: A Case Study in Screaming
Let's be real. Zenitsu is always screaming. It's part of his charm, I guess?
But in this episode? It's like they turned the screaming dial up to eleven! My ears were ringing. I feel bad for his voice actor.

I get he's scared of everything, but even I was scared after listening to him! Someone give that boy a chill pill... and some earplugs.
The Dialogue: A Little Cheesy?
Okay, I know anime dialogue can be cheesy sometimes. It's part of the fun!
But there are lines in this episode that made me cringe. I can't even repeat them. It's not the translator's fault, I know they are doing their best.

It's like they're trying too hard to make everything sound epic and meaningful. But sometimes, less is more, you know?
Don't Get Me Wrong, I Still Love It!
I'm not saying the dub is terrible. It's still Demon Slayer! I'm still invested in Tanjiro's journey.
And the animation is still gorgeous. That goes without saying. Ufotable never disappoints, honestly.
But the dub just felt…a little off. Like they tried to amplify everything to the point of absurdity. I'm hoping it mellows out as the season progresses.

An Unpopular Opinion?
Maybe I'm alone in this. Maybe everyone else loved the dub. That's totally fine!
But I just needed to get it off my chest. Sometimes, I think anime dubs can try too hard to be "anime-y."
What do you think? Am I being too critical? Or did anyone else feel the same way about Demon Slayer Season 2, Episode 1, English dub? Let me know! I'm ready for the debate!
Let's all still enjoy
Demon Slayer, even if we need to adjust the volume a little... or a lot!
