Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 11 Episode 1 Cast

Okay, let’s talk about Curb Your Enthusiasm. Season 11, episode 1. You know the one.
Specifically, let's chat about the cast. Was it just me, or did something feel a little...off?
The Usual Suspects
Of course, Larry David was fantastic. Grouchy, awkward, and completely relatable in his social ineptitude. He's the glue.
Must Read
Jeff Garlin as Jeff Greene? Always gold. The man could read a phone book and I'd be entertained.
Susie Essman as Susie Greene? Per usual, yelling at Jeff and Larry. The volume knob only goes up to eleven with her!
Cheryl Hines as Cheryl David. The voice of reason. We all need a Cheryl in our lives (or maybe not, depending on how much chaos you crave).
The Guest Stars That Made Us Raise An Eyebrow
But then we get into the guest stars. That’s where my eyebrows started doing the tango.

Tracey Ullman plays Irma Kostroski, a city councilwoman. She really embodies the character so well.
Patton Oswalt makes an appearance too. You always can't go wrong with Patton Oswalt. It's a win.
Unpopular Opinion Time?
Here's where I might lose some of you. Buckle up.
I’ve got a confession: something felt a little…forced. Not in a bad way, but different.

Like they were trying too hard to bring the funny. Was I the only one who felt this?
Maybe it's just me. Maybe I’m so used to Larry's brand of cringe comedy that any deviation throws me off.
The guest stars were fine. Good, even. But did their characters truly add to the episode, or were they just...there?
Okay, okay, don't throw tomatoes! I’m just thinking out loud. "Prett-ay, prett-ay, prett-ay good?" Or just...okay?

Maybe it's the pandemic brain. Maybe my sense of humor has been permanently warped by spending too much time alone with my thoughts.
It is what it is. I still love Curb. I'll still watch every episode religiously.
But this episode…it just didn't quite reach peak Curb for me. Anyone else?
The Verdict (Maybe)
So, to recap: the core cast? Still amazing. The guest stars? Solid.

The overall vibe? Just a tad...off. But hey, even Larry David can't bat a thousand, right?
And even if it's not my favorite episode, it's still miles better than most things on TV. Let's be honest.
I'm still eager to see what other awkward situations Larry gets himself into during the season. That's for sure.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go rewatch some classic Curb and reassure myself that everything is still right in the world.
And maybe, just maybe, formulate some even more controversial opinions about Season 11.
