Chicago P.d. - Season 9 Number Of Episodes

Okay, let's talk Chicago P.D. Season 9. Specifically, its episode count. We all watched it, right? Some loved it, some... maybe not so much.
The Great Episode Debate
Season 9 had 22 episodes. Twenty-two! That's a decent chunk of procedural drama. But here’s a possibly unpopular opinion incoming.
Is 22 Episodes Too Much?
Now, I love my weekly dose of Voight brooding and tackling the city's toughest cases. But sometimes, did it feel a little... padded? Maybe. Just maybe.
Must Read
Think about it. Remember that one episode where they spent half the time searching for a runaway chihuahua? Okay, I exaggerate. Slightly.
Quality Over Quantity, Right?
Don’t get me wrong, there were some truly amazing episodes in Season 9. The ones that left you gasping! The ones that made you yell at your TV. We love those!

But then there were also a few that felt… filler-y. You know, the kind you watch while simultaneously scrolling through your phone. Guilty.
Maybe, just maybe, if they'd trimmed it down to, say, 18 or 20 episodes, they could have packed each one with even more punch. More explosions! More intense interrogations! More questionable decisions by Halstead!
Hear Me Out!
I’m not saying I wanted less Chicago P.D.! That would be madness! I just think a tighter season could have elevated the overall quality.

Less fluff, more stuff! Imagine a season where every single episode is a slam dunk. No room for bathroom breaks during those intense scenes.
The Case For Shorter Seasons
Think of other shows that have mastered the short season. Sherlock. Fleabag. They leave you wanting more! That's a good thing. Right?
Maybe Chicago P.D. could take a page out of their book. Leave us on the edge of our seats, begging for the next season to arrive.

It's All About the Story
At the end of the day, it's all about the storytelling. Compelling characters. Gripping plots. Twists and turns that make your jaw drop.
A shorter season could give the writers more time to hone those elements. To craft each episode into a mini-masterpiece. A perfectly executed crime scene, if you will.
"Twenty-two episodes is a lot of television. Just saying."
The Unpopular Verdict
So, there you have it. My possibly controversial take on Chicago P.D. Season 9's episode count. I think it could have benefited from a little trimming.

But hey, that's just one fan's opinion. And I'll still be tuning in next week, no matter how many episodes they give us. Because, let's face it, we're all hopelessly addicted to the drama and the dangers of the Windy City.
And let's be honest, we secretly enjoy judging Upton's fashion choices, right? Right?
So, what do you think? Am I completely off my rocker? Or do you secretly agree that less could be more? Let me know in the comments! And prepare for a debate... Chicago style!
