Cast Season 2 Only Murders In The Building

Okay, let’s talk Only Murders In The Building, season two. Remember when we were all obsessed? Good times.
But I have a confession. And it might be controversial. Deep breaths, everyone.
Season Two: Hot Take Incoming!
I didn't love it quite as much as season one. I know, I know. Pitchforks down, please!
Must Read
Season one felt so tight. So perfectly Arconia-esque. Season two? It got…a little busy.
Maybe it’s just me. But I found some of the new characters... a bit much.
Cara Delevingne as Alice Banks
Let’s start with Cara Delevingne as Alice Banks. The mysterious artist? I just didn’t buy it.
I wanted to. I really did. Cara is cool! But Alice felt… forced. Like a quirky plot device more than a person.

Her relationship with Mabel felt rushed, too. Where was the slow burn, the awkward flirting? I wanted the spark.
Maybe it's an unpopular opinion. But I was not rooting for that couple.
Amy Schumer as Herself
And then there was Amy Schumer playing...well, herself. Or a heightened version of herself.
Look, I love Amy Schumer. She’s hilarious. But her storyline felt...tacked on.

Using the Arconia to film a show about the podcast? Meta. Sure. But also kind of distracting from the central mystery.
“Maybe if they trimmed some of that fat, the season would have felt tighter.”
It felt like they were trying too hard to be clever. Ironic, considering how clever the show usually is!
The Mystery Itself
The mystery itself wasn’t as gripping either. Did anyone REALLY care that much about Bunny Folger's painting?
I mean, it was a valuable painting. But not exactly edge-of-your-seat stuff.
Season one's Tim Kono had layers. Bunny's a grumpy board president who yelled at people. No offense, Bunny's ghost.

Not All Bad!
Okay, okay, before you completely cancel me, let's be clear. Season two wasn't bad.
Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez were still brilliant. Their chemistry is undeniable.
The writing was still sharp. And the Arconia is still the best TV apartment building ever.
But for me, it lacked the magic of season one. That tight, focused storytelling.

Maybe my expectations were too high. After such a stellar first season, anything less would feel like a letdown.
Final Verdict (Prepare for More Unpopular Opinions!)
Ultimately, season two was…fine. Perfectly watchable. But not the instant classic season one was.
It’s like when your favorite band releases a follow-up album. You’re excited, you listen to it religiously, but it just doesn’t quite hit the same notes.
Am I alone in this? Let me know! I'm ready for the backlash. But maybe, just maybe, someone out there agrees with my slightly heretical Only Murders In The Building opinion.
Now, bring on season three! Hope it recaptures that original Arconia magic.
