But You Didn't Do Anything Sailor Moon

Okay, okay, hear me out. I know this is probably anime blasphemy. But sometimes, I watch Sailor Moon and think… she’s kind of just… there.
The Legendary Guardian?
We all love Usagi Tsukino. She's clumsy, she cries, she eats a lot. Relatable queen, right?
But when the monster shows up, what does she usually do? She cries! Then the other Sailor Guardians fight.
Must Read
Seriously, Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter are doing all the heavy lifting. I'm just saying.
Tuxedo Mask to the Rescue (Again)
And don't even get me started on Tuxedo Mask. He's always throwing roses. He gives a little speech. Then he gets kidnapped, again.
It's almost a running gag. It makes you wonder how he became a great tactician.

But Sailor Moon, our supposed heroine? Often she’s just… waiting. Waiting for something to happen.
The Power of the Crystal... Eventually
I know, I know, she has the Silver Crystal. It's super powerful! But does she actively use it strategically?
Not really. It's more like a last-minute "Oh no, we're all doomed! Wait, shiny thing! I win!"
The other Sailor Guardians work so hard throughout the fight. Sailor Mercury provides the strategy. Sailor Venus inspires confidence. And then Sailor Moon just... finishes things.

Teamwork Makes the Dream Work... Right?
Look, I'm not saying Sailor Moon is useless. Her role as the leader is important. She boosts morale.
And that final attack, the Moon Princess Halation or whatever, is definitely cool to watch. So shiny!
But consider this: what if they just gave Sailor Mars the Silver Crystal? Would the monster of the week even stand a chance?
Unpopular Opinion? Maybe.
Maybe this is a terrible opinion. Maybe I'm missing the point of the entire show. Maybe I am the monster of the week!

But I just think about all those times Sailor Mercury got knocked out protecting Sailor Moon. And then Sailor Moon started crying!
Someone needs to appreciate Mercury's smartness! She truly is the brains of the operations.
The Heart of a Hero
Okay, to be fair, Sailor Moon's strength lies in her empathy. She always wants to save everyone, even the bad guys.
And maybe that unwavering belief in the good in people is what makes her so powerful. It's inspiring.

But still… wouldn't it be nice to see her throw a punch, just once, without crying first? I believe she is a great leader.
A Last Thought
Ultimately, Sailor Moon is a classic for a reason. It's about friendship, love, and fighting for what's right.
But next time you watch, pay attention to who's really doing the fighting. You might see what I see. Or you might think I'm crazy!
Either way, let’s all agree that Luna is the real MVP. She gave Usagi the brooch. And that is no small thing.
