Okay, let's talk Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Specifically, season 7, episode 1. Remember "Manhunter"?

Everyone was buzzing. Amy was super pregnant! Jake was... Jake. And a city-wide manhunt was on.

The Good Stuff (Duh!)

The jokes, naturally, were on point. Holt's deadpan delivery? Still gold. Boyle's awkwardness? Classic.

And Amy Santiago, being a fiercely competent pregnant woman, was amazing. No damsel in distress here! #GirlPower

The storyline itself was engaging. A city in chaos, the Nine-Nine trying to restore order. Classic Brooklyn Nine-Nine.

Here's where things get spicy. I think, maybe, just maybe, the premiere was... good, but not GREAT.

Don't get me wrong! I laughed. I enjoyed it. But something felt a little...safe?

It felt like the show was finding its footing again after a break. Maybe the writers were easing us back in.

The Jake & Amy Dynamic

Jake and Amy are the heart of the show. Their relationship is hilarious and sweet.

But in this episode, their pregnancy plot felt a bit...underdeveloped? Maybe they were saving it for later episodes, who knows!

We all know Jake Peralta's love of the Die Hard movies. We can forgive him for everything. But I expected more hilarious moments.

Holt's Struggle: A Highlight

Captain Holt dealing with his demotion was definitely a highlight. His stoicism crumbling was fantastic comedy.

His interactions with Madeline Wuntch were pure gold. Their rivalry is legendary.

Andre Braugher's comedic timing is impeccable. Seriously, give that man all the awards!

The Supporting Cast Shined

Terry Crews? Always amazing. Rosa Diaz? Still the coolest person on television. Boyle? Still Boyle!

The ensemble cast is what makes this show work. Everyone brings something unique and hilarious to the table.

Even Scully and Hitchcock had their moments. Bless their weird little hearts.

Overall: Still Worth Watching

Look, I'm being picky. It's Brooklyn Nine-Nine! Even a "good" episode is better than most sitcoms out there.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine always delivers humor and heart. It is the perfect combination.

So, should you watch "Manhunter"? Absolutely! Just maybe don't expect it to be the best episode ever. I still enjoyed watching Amy Santiago kick butt!

Final Thoughts (And a Prediction)

Maybe my expectations were too high. Season 6 was so strong!

But I have faith. The Nine-Nine always pulls through. I trust Dan Goor and Michael Schur.
