Episode 23, "Match 5 Conclusion," wrapped things up. We finally saw the end of that seemingly endless series of battles. Did anyone else feel like it was dragging on just a little bit?
Shinso's Shining (Brainwashing) Moment
Okay, Shinso was the real MVP here. He finally got to show off his brainwashing quirk against some actual opponents. Watching him develop his abilities was pretty cool.
He's been wanting to join the hero course forever. You gotta root for the underdog, right? It’s not always about flashy explosions like Bakugo. (Though, those ARE pretty awesome.)
He's a refreshing change of pace. Plus, who doesn't love a good brainwashing power? (For heroic purposes, of course!)

Monoma: The Copycat Conundrum
Let’s talk about Monoma. He's... something else. Constantly mocking Class 1-A. A touch irritating, no?
But also, kind of hilarious? He's like that annoying little brother you can't help but chuckle at. He's got dedication, I'll give him that.
His obsession with Class 1-A is almost endearing. In a super weird, "I'm going to copy your quirk and use it against you" kind of way.
The Unsung Heroes (and Villains)
Let's be honest, a lot of the other characters felt a bit… forgotten. This whole arc was a bit packed. Hard to give everyone a moment to shine!

But that's okay! Sometimes, the support characters need to take a backseat. It’s all about the bigger picture.
Remember when Ojiro was a main character? Good times.
Unpopular Opinion Time!
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. Ready?
The Joint Training Arc wasn't bad. It was… necessary. Kind of like eating your vegetables. You might not love it, but it's good for you!

It set up future storylines! It gave us more insight into the other classes. It gave Shinso a chance to shine! That’s gotta be worth something, right?
Maybe the pacing was a bit off. And maybe some characters got sidelined. But overall? It wasn't a complete waste of time. I said what I said!
The Hype Train is Coming!
Look, I get it. Season 5 had its ups and downs. But the series is setting up some major events.
Remember the cliffhanger? Deku's quirk going wild? That was some juicy stuff! That alone made slogging through a few less-than-stellar episodes worth it.

So, let’s not write off the entire season just yet. The best is yet to come, I can feel it!
Final Thoughts (And Maybe a Plea)
Maybe I’m just trying to be optimistic. Maybe I’m trying to find the silver lining in a cloud of… questionable animation choices. (Let's not talk about that, okay?).
But I still love My Hero Academia. Even with its flaws. Even with its slightly-too-long training arcs.
So, let's all take a deep breath. Let’s remember the good times. And let's prepare ourselves for the epicness that is surely on its way! Plus Ultra!
