Okay, let's talk Blue's Clues & You. Specifically, the Spooky Costume Party With Blue episode. Did anyone else find it... a little too spooky for preschoolers?

Don't get me wrong, I love a good costume party. And Blue is adorable. But those costumes? Some of them were pushing it.

The Costume Conundrum

I'm not saying ban Halloween. I just think some of the costume choices were questionable. Especially for the younger viewers glued to the screen.

Ghostly Giggles or Genuine Goosebumps?

We had a ghost, naturally. That's standard spooky fare. But then came the monster, and the… was that a zombie? I'm pretty sure it was a zombie.

Look, I get it. They're trying to be fun and festive. But a zombie on Blue's Clues? Really?

Maybe I'm just a worrywart. My toddler hides behind the couch during the "Itsy Bitsy Spider" song. So, yeah, maybe I'm overreacting.

Josh: The Unsung Hero

Let's give it up for Josh. That guy has the patience of a saint. He deals with talking furniture and a perpetually panting puppy.

And he does it all with a smile! Seriously, someone get that man a medal. And maybe a therapist.

He navigates those slightly-too-scary costumes like a pro. I'd probably be hiding under the thinking chair.

Mailbox. Always delivers (literally!). Even his costume was cute and not at all terrifying.

The True Meaning of Halloween (According to Blue)

The episode, of course, ends with a valuable lesson. Halloween is about fun and friends. Not just about being scared senseless.

Blue learns that even scary costumes can be silly. And that's a great message for kids. It just took a little while to get there!

But did we need the zombie to get there? That's the real question, isn't it?

My Unpopular Opinion

Here it is: Blue's Clues & You should stick to slightly less spooky costumes. A pumpkin? Yes. A vampire? Maybe. A zombie? Hard pass.

Give me cute ghosts and friendly witches any day. Let's leave the truly scary stuff to the grown-up horror movies. Okay?

Despite my costume qualms, I still love Blue's Clues & You. It's educational and engaging. And it gives me a few minutes of peace.

Just maybe dial it down a notch next year, okay? My couch is getting tired of being hidden behind.
