Big Little Lies Season 1 Episode 7 Streaming

Confessions of a Big Little Lies Obsessive: Episode 7, Streaming and...Overrated?
Okay, deep breaths everyone. I’m about to say something that might get me kicked off Monterey's Parent Association.
Ready? I think the final episode of Big Little Lies Season 1, the one that everyone streams and raves about, is slightly…overrated.
Don’t get me wrong! I was glued to my screen like everyone else. The drama! The secrets! The perfect California outfits!
Must Read
But honestly? Sometimes I think the hype machine revved up a little too high. I mean, we all saw it coming, right? That dreaded confrontation?
The Streaming Frenzy: A Collective Sigh of Relief (and Dread)
Let's be real. The entire world practically stopped when Episode 7 dropped. Streaming services were probably sweating under the pressure. We all held our breath.
Everyone was desperate to finally find out the truth. Who pushed Perry Wright? And how would these fabulously flawed women cover it up?
The tension was thicker than Renata Klein's perfectly coiffed hair. But here's the thing. I felt more relief than shock.

The Accidental Murder: A Convenient Plot Device?
Don’t come for me! I understand the story needed a climax. Perry's death was obviously the catalyst for change for these women. He needed to be stopped.
However, did the "accidental" push feel a tad…convenient? Like a plot shortcut to a neat and tidy (and undeniably cinematic) ending?
Perhaps. I wanted something more unexpected.
Madeline Martha Mackenzie: Our Unreliable Narrator
Let's talk about Madeline, played brilliantly by Reese Witherspoon. I adore her chaotic energy, but can we truly trust her perspective?
Her tendency to embellish, to dramatize… did that affect how we viewed the events leading up to the fateful night?

Maybe. She's a great character, but definitely adds a level of unreliable narration that we should consider.
The Beach Scene: Iconic, Yes. Groundbreaking? Maybe Not.
That final beach scene is undeniably iconic. The women, united against a shared secret, staring out at the ocean. The music swells.
Visually stunning? Absolutely. But did it really offer profound insight into the complexities of female friendship? Or was it just a pretty picture?
I'm still on the fence. It looked amazing, I will concede.

Unpopular Opinion: The Supporting Characters Deserved More
While the “Monterey Five” understandably dominated the screen, I craved more depth from the supporting characters. What about Nathan and Bonnie?
They felt underdeveloped, existing primarily as foils to the main drama. I think the series could have benefitted from exploring their perspectives further.
Especially Bonnie. We saw hints of her past, but never fully understood the depth of her trauma. Zoë Kravitz was amazing.
Streaming Success: Does Hype Equal Quality?
Look, I’m not saying Big Little Lies Season 1 Episode 7 is bad. It’s fantastically entertaining television. I streamed it just like you.
But the overwhelming praise? The "best episode of television ever" claims? I think those are a little excessive.

Maybe the hype inflated our expectations. Maybe I just prefer a little more grit and less gloss. Maybe.
Final Thoughts: Still Obsessed, Still Questioning
Despite my reservations, I remain a devoted Big Little Lies fan. I've even streamed the first season a few more times after that first viewing.
The acting is superb, the scenery is breathtaking, and the story, despite its flaws, is undeniably captivating. And don't forget those outfits!
But let's be honest, streaming this show is a guilty pleasure we all share.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go re-watch the beach scene… just to make sure I’m right (or wrong!).
