Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 13

Okay, let's talk about Attack on Titan. Specifically, Season 4, Episode 13. "Children of the Forest." Remember that one?
It's got that slow burn, right? The calm before the storm. Some people love that. Me? I have... complicated feelings.
The Marleyan Perspective
We're stuck with Gabi and Falco. Again. Now, don't get me wrong. Their stories are important.
Must Read
But sometimes I just want to yell at the screen, "Less kid drama, more titan smashing!" Is that just me?
Falco's a sweet kid, I'll give him that. He is protecting Gabi at all costs. Total bro move.
Gabi: Unpopular Opinion Time
Here's where I might lose some of you. Gabi. She’s... intense. And, frankly, kind of annoying.

I know, I know, she's been brainwashed. But that doesn't make her constant screaming of "Eren Yeager!" any less grating. Sorry, not sorry.
Don't @ me! I said what I said. It's a cartoon, get over it. But seriously, Eren has a name! Use it!
The Quiet Moments
The episode's got some nice, quiet moments. Pieck's always a treat. That girl is sharp.
Her interactions with Eren are always fascinating. She knows she is walking into a trap. Is this for real or an act?

And that scene with Niccolo and Sasha's family? Heartbreaking. Food, grief, and awkward silences. A perfect recipe for emotional turmoil.
Eren Being Eren
Eren’s just… brooding. He does a lot of brooding this season. It's his signature move.
Mysterious Eren is intriguing, of course. What's he plotting? World domination? A spa day?

He's so calm and collected. But you just know he's about to unleash some serious chaos. He always does.
The Pacing
Okay, back to the main point. The pacing. It’s... deliberate.
Some might say it’s masterful storytelling, building tension. Others (like me, sometimes) might say it’s dragging its feet.
I understand the need for character development. Really, I do. I need a bit more titan action between the development.

"Give the people what they want!" - Me, probably shouting at my TV.
Overall Thoughts
So, "Children of the Forest" is a mixed bag. Good character moments, some frustrating characters, and a plot that's simmering, not boiling.
It’s a necessary episode, I guess. It sets the stage for the craziness to come.
But, in my (possibly controversial) opinion, it's not the most exciting episode of Attack on Titan. Not by a long shot. Though I will admit, Eren’s mysterious smile at the end still gets me.
Anyone else feel this way? Or am I just a monster who wants to see titans punch each other all the time? Let me know!
