Attack On Titan Season 4 Episode 1 English Sub

Okay, let's talk Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 1. English subs, of course. Because who has time to learn a whole new language just for anime? Not me!
The One Where Everything Changed (Again)
Remember when we thought the biggest threat was, you know, actual Titans chomping on people? Good times. Simpler times. Now we're in full-blown war mode. And frankly, it's a little jarring.
Suddenly, our beloved Eren and the gang are...soldiers? Fighting other soldiers? Where are the giant naked monsters? I miss the giant naked monsters.
Must Read
Is This Even Attack on Titan Anymore? (Unpopular Opinion Alert!)
Okay, here's where I might lose some of you. But does anyone else feel like this season started a little...slow? Don't get me wrong, the animation is stunning. The story is complex. But the initial shift was not smooth.
All those new characters! Trying to keep track of who's who in the Marleyan army gave me a headache. I needed a spreadsheet! Maybe even a powerpoint presentation.

And honestly, seeing them as the "bad guys" was weird. I’m used to rooting for Eren, even when he makes questionable choices. Now, he's MIA. It's like watching a completely different show with familiar faces sprinkled in.
Reiner: Still Suffering
Poor Reiner. Seriously. This guy can't catch a break. He seems permanently traumatized, and honestly, who can blame him? He has Titan power and mental issue!
Remember when he was the Armored Titan, all stoic and menacing? Now he's just a shell of his former self. Give this man a hug! And maybe some therapy.

Is it just me, or is Reiner the most relatable character now? We've all had those moments where we're just tired and want to give up. Except, you know, we're not giant armored Titans fighting for our lives.
Gabi: The New Eren? (Please Say No)
Let’s talk about Gabi. This kid is intense. She's got that same fire in her eyes that Eren used to have. But instead of hating Titans, she hates… well, everyone on Paradis Island.

Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about her yet. She's clearly talented and driven. But her unwavering belief in the Marleyan propaganda makes her a little... naive? Maybe she should have a talk with Reiner.
Could Gabi be the new protagonist? I sincerely hope not. Eren, come back! We miss your angsty monologues and Titan transformations! The show needs you!
Final Thoughts (and Maybe a Snack Break)
Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 1 was definitely a bold move. It threw us headfirst into a new world, a new perspective. But, there were too many new faces at one time and not enough explanation.

It was challenging, confusing, and maybe a little bit underwhelming. But hey, it's only the first episode. There's plenty of time for things to get even crazier. Which, let's be honest, they probably will.
So, what's the verdict? Good? Bad? Confusingly good? Grab a snack, rewatch it a few times, and let me know what you think!
